She also enjoyed sending greeting cards to all and cooking for shut-ins. She is survived by two granddaughters, Kari (Troy) Karshner of Roanoke, Ind., and Niki Schmutte of La Porte, Ind., two great-granddaughters, Morgan Karshner and Lauren Karshner, both of Roanoke. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Lana Jean Schmutte, who died in 1997, five brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be 2p.m., Thursday, Aug.24, 2017 at Wabash Church of Christ, 1904 N. Wabash St., Wabash, with Josh Fennell officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. on August 23, 2017.
