Scholefield were divorced in February, 1977 at Modoc Co., California.6 Raymond Guy Laird died on February 14, 2017 at Klamath Falls, Klamath Co., Oregon, at age 85.3 He Raymond Guy Laird passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his Klamath Falls home on Feb.14, 2017, at the age of 85. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m on Sunday, Feb. 26, in O'Hair-Wards Funeral Chapel. Contributions in his memory may be made to Klamath Hospice or Friends of Pets. Raymond was born in Klamath Falls with his twin, Robert, on May 27, 1931, to Marion Ray and Gladys (Craddock) Laird. He was raised on the family homestead in Tulelake and graduated from Tulelake High School in 1949. In 1950, at age 19, he and his brothers, Everett and Robert, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force to fight in the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge, he joined the family's longtime cattle, grain and hay raising business on the family ranch, "Laird's Landing." Raymond became the third generation owner and eventually passed the Landing on to his children, ensuring the continuance of his grandparents' legacy. Being an avid outdoors man, Raymond enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and hiking with his family and friends. After retirement, he channeled his farming talents into gardening, providing friends and neighbors with multitudes of fresh vegetables. Always good with kids, he taught all of his family to ride and rope, water ski and snow ski, target shoot, have great snowball fights and build exceptional forts. They learned to drive boats, trucks, tractors, dirt bikes and, most importantly, how to enjoy life and the outdoors. Raymond was a wonderful father and will be greatly missed by all who had the joy of knowing him. People will miss his ready smile and wry sense of humor, his love of his dogs and cat, "Scooter," and his love and enjoyment of his family and friends. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Michele Laird Coady and William Coady and Lauren Diane Laird and Tracy Wood; son, Scott Raymond Laird; and the joy of his life, grandchildren, Adam Coady, Alison Coady and her spouse Morgan Truitt, Katelyn Laird, and Sierra Laird. He is also survived by brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Alice (Stonecypher) Laird and their children Robert Jr., Cynthia, Jennifer; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. His partner of may years, Leona Gill, preceded him in death in 2016. Raymond's family would like to extend a special thanks to Klamath Hospice, and caregiver Joy Hobbs, for their assistance in helping to make his end of life comfortable, happy and dignified. on February 22, 2017.3
