She retired as a school teacher. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bristol and the Rosary Society. She was a Docent for the Midwest Museum of American Art and was involved in many Bridge clubs. She was an avid quilter, gardener, and feeder of hummingbirds. She also was a big fan of IU basketball. Visitation for Joyce will be from 4-7 pm Friday, Aug. 24 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bristol, IN where the Rosary will be recited at 7 pm. Visitation will also be an hour prior to the 11 am Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Aug. 25 at the church. Fr. Bob VanKempen will officiate. Private burial will be held at a later date in the Hopewell Cemetery, Lagro, Indiana. on August 23, 2018.2

     Fred Nathan Boomer Frederic Nathan Boomer, age 85, of Owosso, went to be his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, December 15th. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, December 19, 2009 at the Grace Bible Church, 201 Michigan Avenue with Pastor Jerry Walden officiating.
Frederic was born April 7, 1924 in Imlay City, the son of Thomas C. and Pearl (Tripp) Boomer. He was a graduate of Imlay City High School. He married Peggy Cleaveland in Imlay City on December 23, 1945, while on leave from the U. S. Army during World War II.. Frederic worked for GTE (now Verizon), retiring as a senior inspector in 1983, after 36 years of service. Following his retirement, he and Peggy traveled for 11 years with the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program, traveling as far away at Alaska. As a member of Grace Bible Church, Fred was involved in the church ministry for many years, driving the bus on Sundays and serving the missions committee and church board. His passions in life was serving his Lord and his wife and family. A special thank you to Memorial Hospice for their compassionate care and the many friends offering their support. Survivors include: wife, Peggy of Owosso; children, Susan (Ron) Daley of Portland, Oregon, Sharon (Tom) Lehman of Middleville, Michigan, Sally (Ken) Sanden of Duvall, Washington, Jill (Kevin) McDonald of Lennon, Michigan, Tom (Vonnie) Boomer of Mustang, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Millie Ramsey of Port Huron; severan nieces and nephews.
