"Pam" Porter was buried at Pleasant View Cemetery, Fayetteville, Fayette Co., West Virginia.¹ She was born on May 12, 1954 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.^1,3 As of May 31, 1980,her married name was Johnston.¹ She married Johnny Johnston on May 31, 1980.^2,1 Sandra L. "Pam" Porter died on October 28, 2013 at Kendallville, Noble Co., Indiana, at age 59.^1,3 She Sandra L. "Pam" Johnston, 59, of Cromwell, Ind., passed away October 28, 2013, at Parkview Noble Hospital. She was born May 12, 1954, in Charleston, W.Va., to Charles Henry and Mildred (Shockey) Porter. She married Johnny Johnston on May 31, 1980. He survives. Surviving are her husband; one son, Jonathan "Chris" Johnston; two brothers, Chuck (Carolyn) Porter and Jim Porter of Ligonier, Ind; and two sisters, Karen Rollins of Ligonier and Betty Bailes of Charleston. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Michael D. She retired from West Noble School Corporation after 15 years of busing school children. She was also a devoted Sunday school teacher for 40 years. She was a member of The Sanctuary in Syracuse, Ind. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, at The Sanctuary, 10121 North State Road 13, Syracuse, IN 46567. A funeral service in her honor will follow the visitation at 6 p.m. Pastors Craig Fritchley and Ron Cox will officiate. There will be a time of visitation with the family from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, November 1, at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, 350 W. Maple Ave., Fayetteville, WV 25840. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Gatewood Road, Fayetteville.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, John A. Bowers, Jr., three sisters, Mrs. Betty Dickenson, Martinsburg, Mrs. Jean Eades, Omstead, WV, Mrs. Judy Welcher, Churchville, Va; and one brother, Robert R. Dooley, Jr., Biloxi, Miss. Funeral services were held at the Brownsville Church of the Brethren; interment was in Brownsville Heights Cemetery; arrangements by the Bast Funeral Home. on February 4, 1981.⁴
