     Lloyd Douglas Lloyd Douglas, 94, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 29, 2014. He was born on April 10, 1919 in Zolfo Springs, FL. He was born into a large family of nine brothers and two sisters. After working with the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's building state parks across the country, he entered the US Navy during World War II as an aircraft mechanic. Seeing many different duty stations over 25 years, one of which was in Virginia when he met the love of his life, his wife, Louise, they were blessed with 59 years of marriage. He served aboard the USS Yorktown Cv-5 when she went down in the Battle of Midway. After his retirement from the military he returned to Corpus Christi and work at Aradmac until he retired in 1986 to spend his time fishing and gardening with his wife and his son. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Louise; son, David (Clara) and his three remaining brothers in Florida: Lawrence, Glen and Jack (Mary). The family will be receiving friends at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with the Funeral service following at 2:00 p.m.. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.3 He was buried at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Nueces Co., Texas.3,4 He was born on April 10, 1919 at Zolfo Springs, Hardee Co., Florida.6,3,5 He married Louise Edna Tilley, daughter of John A.
