     Evelyn B. Childress Evelyn B. Shepherd age 87 of Toledo formerly of Grundy, VA, and Bluefield, WV passed away Friday, December 24, 2021, peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Evelyn was born in Grundy, VA to Basil Childress and Thelma (Bartley) on September 26, 1934. She married Albert Shepherd and moved to Toledo, Ohio. Evelyn received a business degree from Stautzenberger College and worked for the W.T. Grant Co. and later retired from N.F.O. Research in 1997. Evelyn was a former member of East Toledo Baptist Church. She was talented at crochet and people often remarked at how beautiful her work was. Evelyn loved her family get-togethers, going out to eat, traveling down south, and spending time with her grandchildren. Evelyn is survived by her children Patricia (Dennis) Green, Susan Hamilton, Iris Leigh Profitt, and Daniel Shepherd; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brothers Robert (Judy) Lord and Kenneth Barlow; and sister-in-law Marsha Barlow. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert in 2011, grandparents Robert and Jane Bartley, father Basil, mother Thelma, step-father Joseph D. Barlow, daughters Cecile Shepherd and Virginia Perez, brother Joe Barlow, and son-in-law Michael Hamilton. Burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.² She was buried at Lake Township Cemetery, Walbridge, Wood Co., Ohio.² Her married name was Shepherd.¹ She married Albert Hoge "Buster" "Buss" Shepherd, son of Joseph Matthew "Joe" Shepherd and Eva Mae McGhee.^1,2 Evelyn B. Survivors are sons, Chuck Miller of Elizabeth City, NC, John Miller and JD Perez of Naples, FL, David Perez of Casselberry, FL; daughters, Theresa Miller of Longwood, FL and Christina Ryan of Deltona, FL; sisters, Marie Green of Naples, FL, Iris Tabor of Princeton, WV, Debra Blackburn of Lakeland, GA, Beth Hayden of Orlando, FL, Susan Hamilton of Oregon, OH; brothers, Joe and Gary Shepherd of Kissimmee, FL, and Daniel Shepherd of Oregon, OH; and Step Mother, Evelyn Shepherd of Oregon, OH. Also she had 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. on July 12, 2012.²

Sue was also preceded in death by her husband, James "Buddy" Holley; her children, Yvonne Sue Mesa, David Lee Warburton, Scott Allan Warburton, and a number of brothers and sisters. She is survived by her grandchildren, Joshua Mesa, Kyle Mesa, Chasity Colts, and host of other relatives and friends. A graveside service will be held at Mechanicsville Baptist Church Cemetery, on July 7, 2020.²
