     David Lee Collins David Lee Collins, age 84, of Yates Center, Kansas, passed away October 2, 2014, at Deseret Health and Rehabilitation Center in Yates Center. He was born October 6, 1929, in El Dorado, Kansas, the son of John Michael and Lucy Elizabeth (Wilson) Collins. David spent his early childhood in Rosalia, Kansas, and the family then moved back to the Woodson County area and settled in Rural Piqua, Kansas. He attended Woodson County Schools and graduated from Yates Center High School. After high school David entered the U.S. Navy and remained active in the service until 1952. He then went on to further his education at Kansas State University where he graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After completing his education, David met Opal (Dickey) Brown and the couple was married on November 5, 1960, in Independence, Kansas. With his new marriage came the new responsibility of parenthood. David gained a step-son, Terry Brown. David and Opal were married for nearly 50 years before her death on May 22, 2007. David was a member of the First Christian Church, a past-member of the local American Legion, and the V.F.W., all of Yates Center. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William “Bill” Collins; and two sisters, Donna Eisenbart and Marcella Dixon. He is survived by his step-son, Terry Brown and wife Mary Anna of Independence, Kansas; his siblings, Robert “Ike” Collins of Piqua, Martha Cook of Yates Center, and Glen Collins and wife Connie also of Piqu; three grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center. The family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will take place at 2:00PM, Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Jefferson Cemetery, Independence, Kansas.4 He was buried at Jefferson Cemetery, Montgomery Co., Kansas.4,5 He was born on October 6, 1929 at El Dorado, Butler Co., Kansas.9,4,5 He married Opal J.      Robert Earl "Ike" Collins was buried at Iola Township Cemetery, Iola, Allen Co., Kansas.4,6 He Robert Earl (Ike) Collins, age 85, formerly of Piqua, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at the Yates Center Health and Rehabilitation Center, Yates Center, Kansas. Ike was born August 9, 1933, in Iola, Kansas, to John Mike Collins and Lucy Elizabeth Wilson Collins. He grew up on a farm south of Piqua, Kansas. Ike graduated from the Yates Center High School. After graduating, Ike went to Indiana, where he worked in a stave mill that manufactured whiskey barrels and where he met Rose Zetta Lenning. Ike and Rose were married on December 19, 1959, in Spencer, Indiana. In 1960, Ike and Rose moved back to Kansas where they lived on a farm two miles south and one-half mile west of Piqua. They started their family there. They had two boys, Ray and Randy, and one daughter, Kris Ann. Ike and Rose were married 53 years. Ike worked for the Piqua Farmers Cooperative for 37, retiring in 1997. After retirement, he helped his brother, Bill Collins, with farming. Ike loved to help others when they needed help. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping, and he especially enjoyed taking his little radio and walk through his fields while listening to the Kansas City Royals. Ike liked to watch basketball and football. K-State and Kansas City Chiefs were his football teams, but the Kansas Jayhawks was his basketball team. Ike loved being around his grandkids and great-grandkids. Ike was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie, on December 19, 2012; his son, Ray Gene, on March 13, 2018; his parents, two brothers, Dave and Bill Collins; two sisters, Donna Eisenbart and Marcella Dixon; one sister-in-law, Opal Collins; and two brothers-in-law, Don Cook and Larry Dixon. Ike is survived by one son, Randy Collins and wife, Sandy, Piqua, Kansas; one daughter, Kris Wallace and husband, Chris, Piqua, Kansas; one daughter-in-law, Susan Collins, Iola, Kansas; grandchildren, Luke Collins, Kylie Wallace, Staci Slater and husband, Adam, Miles Collins, Tyler Collins, Jordan Davis and husband, Charles, Abagail Lucas, and Kallan Lucas; great-grandchildren, Amyah Wallace, Isaiah Wallace, Zoey Stoll, Avyah Davis, Hayden Davis, Kelsey Davis, Mackenzie Davis, Callan Slater, and Maddie Slater; one sister, Martha Cook; one brother, Glenn Collins and wife, Connie; four brothers-in-law, Norb Eisenbart, Nick Lenning and wife, Carolyn, Fred Lenning, Brady Lenning; two sisters-in-law, Mary (Babe) Collins, Doris Hawkins; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.      Ray Gene Collins Ray Collins, 57, of rural Piqua, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Select Specialty Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. Ray was born August 1, 1960, in Iola, Kansas, the son of Robert E. “Ike” and Rose Zetta “Rosie” (Lenning) Collins. He was a life-long resident of the Piqua area. He attended school in Yates Center and graduated from Yates Center High School in 1978. On September 3, 1983, Ray and Susan Greathouse were married in Piqua. They became the parents of a son and a daughter. Following high school Ray was employed as a feed truck driver at the Yates Center Coop. He then drove for the Piqua Coop for twenty years before retiring in 2000 due to health problems. As soon as he was cleared to work again he delivered propane for D & D Propane in Humboldt until 2016. Ray loved the outdoors, especially hunting. He also enjoyed raising cattle. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosie, on December 19, 2012. He leaves his wife, Susan, of the home; his son, Luke Collins and his significant other, Whitney Sorenson, Yates Center; his daughter, Staci Slater and husband Adam, Yates Center; four grandchildren, Callan and Madelin Slater and Avery and Maverick Eakin; his father, Ike Collins, Piqua; his brother, Randy Collins and wife Sandy, Piqua; his sister, Kris Wallace and husband Chris, Piqua; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 19, 2018, at Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center.
