Mom married James R. Fisher in 1948. They were married until his passing in March of 2011. Together they raised 4 children, Randy (Cheryl), Julie (deceased), Mark and Brad Fisher. She is also the proud grandma of 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Mom's greatest joy was to feed the hungry and non-hungry as soon as they were in her kitchen. We shared many get-togethers of friends and family at our house largely due to Mom's hospitality and congenial nature. Mom's passing will leave a large void in many people's lives. A memorial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy. on May 14, 2014.³

The ship was involved in four major skirmishes in the Philippine islands arena. Jim was awarded numerous citations and was honorably discharged as Radarman 2nd Class. After the war, Jim married Bettie L. Whipple in Elko Nevada on December 12, 1948. Jim owned his own Semi truck and trailer and logged over three million safe miles. He loved telling about his adventures on the open roads of the United States. Dad could fix anything he put his mind to, in retirement he enjoyed working on his machines until they were fine tuned and also puttering in his yard. Father was an exceptional rancher and horseman, his greatest joy was riding his horses and cattle ranching in Wallsburg UT. Jim is survived by his wife Bettie and four children, Bob, Randy (Cheryl) Mark and Brad; brothers Keith, Ray (Vickie); sisters Betty (Barney) Potter, and Teddy (Bob) Dillman. Jim is preceded in death by his daughter Julie & his parents Jim, you will be missed. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East 10600 South Sandy, UT. on February 27, 2011.¹
