Lankford and Valeria Beatrice "Lera" Cole, on February 10, 1942 at Duke, Jackson Co., Oklahoma.1 James Dayton "J.D." Lane died on November 11, 2007 at Amarillo, Potter Co., Texas, at age 83.2,4 He James Dayton "J.D." Lane, 83, of Amarillo died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007. Graveside services with military honors will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Robert E. Field officiating. Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Friday in Citychurch with Don E. Lane officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Lane was born in Kerrville. He and his wife, Jean, moved to Amarillo, where they raised their five children. He was lovingly referred to as "Pa," and in the same sense he gave his loved ones nicknames as well. Mr. Lane is remembered by his family as a constant source of strength. Always dependable, he was a man of his word. He was a longtime member of The Church at Quail Creek and also volunteered with the charity program at Citychurch. In death as in life he will not be alone. His loved ones stayed by his side as he took his last breath and left this world to join Christ in his eternal life. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Edna Jean Lane. They were married for 59 years until her death on June 23, 2001. He was also preceded in death by a special companion, June McDonald, in December 2006. Survivors include four sons, Jimmy Dayton Lane, Marvin Joel "Butch" Lane, Clayton Dale Lane and Donnie E. Lane; a daughter, Redonda Allen; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Robinson of Dickson, Calif; and two sisters-in law, Nell Lane and Dorothy Lane, both of Amarillo. He will also be missed by 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. on November 15, 2007.2

Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Lane was born Dec. 15, 1945, in Altus, Okla., to J.D. and Jean Lankford Lane. He married Luene Leverett on Aug. 22, 1964, in Duke, Okla., and enjoyed 45 years of constant companionship, love, friendship and fun. His generosity and love of life will be missed by all who knew him. It was recently said that Butch left a "wake of people" behind him wherever he went. Truly, many people have been influenced by his example and strong commitment to God. Butch attended schools in Amarillo and graduated from Tascosa High School in 1964. In 1968, he received a B.S. degree in biology and plant science from West Texas State University. He joined the master's research program at Texas Tech University in Lubbock in Agriculture Economics in 1971 and then again received his Smith Hughes Certification in agriculture education in 1978. He was a self-taught computer programmer and an avid reader. He loved Oklahoma University football and the Dallas Cowboys. Marvin has worn many hats in his career, but teaching was a natural for him. He taught vocational agriculture in Reydon and Hobart, Okla. He was the high school principal and science teacher at Duke, and he taught biology at Palo Duro High School. At the time of his death, he was instructing agriculture science and horticulture at Hereford Junior High. His entire life was spent "collecting" and educating kids. Butch attended and participated in the kids ministry at Citychurch, Amarillo where his brother, the late Don Lane, began the awesome task of tending to the needy children of Amarillo. He was proceeded in death by his parents, J.D. and Jean Lane; and his brother, Don Lane. Survivors include his wife, Luene; three sons, Marty Lane and fiancee Lisa of Houston, Matt Lane and wife Nancy of Flower Mound and Marcus Lane and wife Angie of Canyon; a daughter, Lori Belott and husband Richard of Canyon; 11 grandchildren, Mason Lane, Madison Lane, Landi Lane, Lexi Lane, McCrae Lane, Wylee Lane, Brett Strange, Krista Strange, Shelbie Strange, Katie Belott and Wyatt Belott; two brothers, Jim Lane and Dale Lane, both of Amarillo; as well as, a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews and a "herd of strays." on January 22, 2010.2

His parents were Kenneth and Ima Robinson. Ronnie graduated from Dixon High School in 1963. He married Teri Sullivan on Nov. 11, 1978. Ronnie is survived by his wife, Teri; son, James "Jim" Robinson Jr; daughter, Meshell, and husband, Michael Louderman; and daughter, Korie, and husband, Jaime Stubblefield; father, Kenneth Robinson; brother, Kenny, and wife, Marsha Robinson; sister, Becky and husband, Bob Giannoni; and sister, Brenda and husband, Wayne Percival, all of Dixon, Calif; and brother, Mike, and wife, Tracy Robinson of Childress, Texas. He is also survived by grandsons, James Robinson III, Cody, Tyler and Tanner Hays, all of Dixon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ronnie was preceded in death by his mother, Ima Robinson; biological father, Laverne Robinson; brother, Mark Robinson; and sister, Linda Robinson. Ronnie worked as a butcher at Armour Meat Company for 21 years and retired from the city of Dixon in 2009. His hobbies included fishing, camping, hunting, spending time with his grandsons, and he was an avid fan of Sprint Cup and NASCAR racing. A viewing will be held today from 5 to 8 p.m., with a funeral on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m., both at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home in Dixon. Graveside services to follow at Silveyville Cemetery. on November 26, 2011.1
