He was preceded in death by his wife Edna in 2001. Elwood is survived by his daughter Beverly Jahn & husband William of Bellbrook; 1 granddaughter Sherri Burkhardt & husband John of Miamisburg; 5 brothers Dewey, Leonard and Leroy Gillum, all of Dayton, Charles Gillum of Ashland, KY, Carson Gillum of Flatwoods, KY and 1 sister Charlotte Lettingham of Graceland, KY. He was a W.W. II Army veteran, had retired from General Motors and was a member of Miami Shores Baptist Church. Funeral services 1:30 P.M., Tues., July 27, 2004 at Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel. Pastor Doug Surber officiating. Entombment Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday for 1 hour to the service at the funeral home. Memoria contributions, if so desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society in Elwood's memory. on July 25, 2004.¹

     Robert Edwin "Bob" Thompson Thompson, Robert "Bob," of Waynesville, passed away on Saturday, April 8th, 2017 at the age of 92. He was born on November 6th, 1924 to Robert Thompson and Mamie Thompson (Upton). Robert served in the Army during World War II. He courageously stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-day and got dropped behind enemy lines to do surveillance on radio intelligence. He served bravely and returned a hero. Once he was home, he started taking ballroom dancing classes during the jitterbug craze, where he met the love of his life, Edie. Together they danced their way through life, enjoying nothing more than time spent together. Robert worked as a machine and tool designer at Bendix Corporation (previously Sheffield Corporation) for nearly 30 years. For Bob, the best part of the job was being able to use his hands, something he looked for in his hobbies as well. He did a lot of tinkering and dabbled in photography. He learned to make beautiful things out of stained glass, and built and flew remote controlled planes, and real ones too. He went skydiving, assembled cars, and baked strawberry rhubarb pies, all with his crafty and gifted hands. Not only were his hands gifted, he was also an incredible runner. He ran in many races, including 5 times at the Boston Marathon, and could still run long distances into his eighties. For all these things, and many more, Bob will be remembered, but his story would not be complete without the mention of he and Edie sitting on lawn chairs in their garage, drinking Miller High Life, eating nuts and waiting for neighbors and friends to pass by. This is how they will be remembered in the minds of so many. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 62 years, Edmonia Thompson. He is survived by daughter Sandra King Paxton (Dan) of Barrington, Illinois; granddaughter, Jessica Young (Ryan); great-granddaughter, Chloe Paxton; Dan's children, Dan Paxton, Jr., and Melissa Morris (Kirk) and their children, Aidan, Austin, Brody, and Kate.³ He was buried at Miami Cemetery, 6379 Corwin Avenue, Corwin, Warren Co., Ohio.² He was born on November 6, 1924.^2,3 He married Edmonia "Edie" Allen, daughter of George Lee Allen and Stella Smith, on October 1, 1954.^1,2 Robert Edwin "Bob" Thompson died on April 8, 2017 at Ohio at age 92.^2,3

     Her married name was Allen.¹ May Unknown married Enos Ray Allen, son of James William Allen and Ellen Bingham.¹ May Unknown was born circa 1909 at Kentucky.¹

     Deanna Pauline Morrison was buried at Ashland Cemetery, 1958 Belmont Street, Ashland, Boyd Co., Kentucky.² Her married name was Caines.² She married John B. Caines III, son of Charles Lee Caines and Marie E. Allen.¹ Deanna Pauline Morrison was born on July 19, 1944.² She died on September 25, 2015 at Ashland, Boyd Co., Kentucky, at age 71.²
