He married Dessell Arthur on Jan. 30, 1949, in Beckley, W.Va; she died on June 20, 2013. Survivors include two sons, Robert Gravely and David Gravely, all of Urbana; one sister, Dora Jones of Beckley, W.Va; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, three sisters, nine brothers and one grandchild. Mr. Gravely retired from the University of Illinois as an equipment operator. He was a member of Curtis Road Church of God, Champaign. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. on December 24, 2016.²

Dessel was preceded in death by her parents, one grandchild and three siblings. Mrs. Gravely worked for more than 20 years at the Champaign County Nursing Home as a nurse. She was a member of the Curtis Road Church of God in Champaign. on June 23, 2013.²

She was born Aug, 6, 1949 to George and Dessel Gravely in Beckley, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her mother and her son, Larry Boyd. She is survived by her father; brothers, Robert and David Gravely; husband, Patrick Reid; sons, Paul and Dale Boyd; daughter, Donna Slade; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. on May 28, 2015.¹

Acord was dead on arrival at a local hospital at 7 p.m. Wednesday following an apparent heart attack. Born April 5. 1911. at Saxon, he was a son of the late John and Pearline Morris Acord and was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church at Eccles. He had been a resident of Eccles for the past 37 years and was employed in the Eccles mines prior to his retirement. He was also a member of the UMWA Local 5770. Survivors include his wife. Mrs. Delia Marie Gravely Acord, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Claude ( Pauline Elizabeth ) Stump. MacArthur: two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Acord, Eccles. and Mrs. Flossie Acord, Bolt; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in Chicago Heights at 2 p.m. Friday. Survivors, in addition to his father and mother, are a brother Norman Eugene, and a sister, Anna, both of Chicago Heights. on May 4, 1959.⁴
