Jerry is survived by his wife, Ila Hirsch of Colville; one son, Mike Hirsch of Portland OR; two daughters, Kathy Baumann and husband Bob, Weston OR; Barb Jensen and husband Gary, Olympia; two brothers, Ralph Hirsch and wife Cindy, Delta CO; Larry Hirsch and wife Corrine of Kettle Falls; sister Loyla Doran and husband Donald, Blanchard ID. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Fri. Jan. 9 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. A graveside service will follow at the IOOF Cemetery in Rice. on January 7, 2009.5

After high school, she worked for a time in Spokane before joining the U.S. Army. She served her country for 11 years before receiving a medical discharge. She returned home to the Colville area before moving to North Carolina four years ago. Teresa was a avid reader.      Ora Harlan Betterton was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1712 S. Glendale Avenue, Glendale, Los Angeles Co., California.3,4 His Social Security Number was 564-34-7513.5 He Ora Harlan Betterton, aged 75 years, died at Seaside hospital, Long Beach, Calif., May 27, 1946. His death was the result of a paralytic stroke which occurred just 6 days previous. His daughters Arlyn M. Wheeler and Irma J. Enright were in constant attendance at his beds until the time of his death. He had been employed at the Los Angeles Breakfast Club until a short time before he became ill. At the time of his death he was residing at the home of his daughter Arlyn in Long Beach, Calif. He was the last surviving member of 10 children born to Gardener and Emily J. Betterton, pioneer Iowans. He was the 9th child, and was born in Knoxville on October 4, 1870. On May 5, 1900 he was married to Carrie B. McKern. To this union three children were born. His wife and infant daughter Velma preceded him in death. Besides his two daughters, he is survived by two grandchildren, Richard and Catherine Enright. Last rites were conducted in the "Little Church of the Flowers" at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at Glendale, Calif. The Rev. Mr. Griggs of the central Christian church of Pasadena was in charge of the services.4 He was born on October 4, 1870 at Knoxville, Marion Co., Iowa.1,2,4,5 He married Carrie B. McKern, daughter of James L. McKern and Eliza Josephine Morse, on May 5, 1905.4 Ora Harlan Betterton died on May 27, 1946 at Long Beach, Los Angeles Co., California, at age 75.2,4,5

Sylvia was preceded and death by her parents; husband; sisters, Helen Dick and Geraldine McKern; and her nephew; Talbert Dick. on June 8, 2011.1
