He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Elizabeth Underwood Boone; and a son, Ronald Beverly Boone. He worked for many years and retired as a commercial artist from Stanford and Inge Sign Company. Surviving is his wife, Joan H. Boone of Vinton; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Victoria Boone Lynch and Daniel W. Lynch of Bedford County; son, Larry Boone of Roanoke County; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Shirley Boone, Charles and Shirley Boone, all of Roanoke; stepdaughter, Denise Hicks of Boones Mill; stepson, Mark H. Heinlein of Roanoke; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2002 at Lotz Vinton Chapel with Rev. Robert W. Lanier officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Second Harvest Food Bank. Arrangements by Lotz Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel. on January 7, 2002.1
