Funeral services will be held today (Friday) at 2 p.m. from the Driskill Mortuary chapel in John Day, conducted by the Reverend C. Herman Bailey of Mt. Vernon. Interment will be in the Canyon City cemetery. Deceased is survived by his wife, his mother, Mrs. Luke McKern and four daughters, besides a number of brothers and sisters and other relatives and a wide circle of friends. on February 17, 1939.6

Funeral services were held from the Driskill Mortuary chapel in John Day, Tuesday afternoon, March 23, conducted by the Rev. Mrs. Josie Bach. Interment was in the Canyon City cemetery. Myrtle Marie Silvers was born at Payette, Idaho, December 16, 1898, and entered into the life of eternal rest and peace, March 19, 1943. Myrtle was the fourth child born to Leora and Luke McKern, honored pioneer family of Mt. Vernon, Oregon. On October 21, 1917 she was united in marriage to John J. Silvers at the home of her parents. To this union were born three lovely daughters. Those who survive her and revere her precious memory are her husband, John J. Silvers, the daughters, Annalee Kirkwood, Maxine, and Norma of John Day, her mother Mrs. Leora McKern of Mt. Vernon, four sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Damon, Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Mabel Fenner, Port Angeles, Wash., Mrs. Verda Donaldson, Portland, Ore., Mrs. Veda Leedy, Caldwell, Idaho, and a host of relatives and friends. Mrs. Silvers lived a noble and beautiful life devoted to her home and community, and to know her was the love her. on March 26, 1943.1

Mr. Leedy was born March 21, 1902, in Canyon City, Ore., where he was reared and graduated from high school. He married Veda L. McKern Nov. 28, 1921, in Prairie City, Ore. He attended Benke-Walker Business College in Portland, and managed Woolworths Co. stores in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho prior to moving to Caldwell in 1935. He had owned Leedy's Cafes in Payette and later in Caldwell since 1947. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge. Surviving in addition to Mrs. Leedy are a son, Keith M. Leedy of Caldwell; three grandchildren, Keith A. Leedy with the Marine Corps, Mrs. Nachele Leedy Farden and Mrs. Karen Leedy Adler, both at Caldwell, and seven great-grandchildren. on October 5, 1973.1

     Keith McKern Leedy Graveside services for Keith McKern Leedy, 62, Caldwell, who died Sunday, Jan. 26, at the Caldwell hospital of natural causes, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. Father John Koelsch of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Caldwell, will officiate under the direction of the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Mr. Leedy was born July 19, 1923, at Canyon City, Ore., to Harry S. and Veda L. McKern Leedy. As a small child, he moved with his family to Payette and later to Caldwell, where he attended school and graduated from Caldwell High School in 1941. He attended the College of Idaho before serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1945 as a platoon sergeant. He owned and operated the Leedy's Cafe in Payette and Caldwell for many years. He is survived by his mother, Veda Leedy of Caldwell; two daughters, Karen Swope of Boise and Nachele Farden of Caldwell; a son, Keith A. Leedy of Seffner, Fla; and eight grandchildren, Leslie and Kari Adler, Leah, Kort, Kelley and Alana Leedy and Greg, Jeff and Jolene Farden. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry. Memorials may be made to the Veteran's Administration Hospital or the Marine Corps League in care of of the Dakan Funeral Chapel, P.O. Keith was raised and educated in Caldwell, Idaho. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1962-1973, completing two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of the Hopewell/Aliquippa V.F.W. Keith was a very talented artist, and also enjoyed fishing, car cruises, karaoke, computers and graphic design. Keith is survived by his life partner, Joan Thompson, of Aliquippa, PA; daughters: Kelley (Kenny) Branstetter, of Weiser, and Alana Barclay, of Nine Mile Falls, WA; mother, Francis Odlivak, of Caldwell; sisters: Karen (Chick) Yates, of Boise, and Nachele Farden of Caldwell; grandchildren: Kayla Branstetter, USMC Corporal Kenneth Branstetter, Kali Branstetter, Eli and Gabriel Barclay; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and comrade brothers. Funeral services for Keith will be held Friday, Oct. 28th at 10:00 AM at The Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 N. Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise, ID. Memorial Service following at 11:30 AM, American Legion, 1112 Main St., Caldwell, ID. "To observe a Marine, is inspirational. To be a Marine, is exceptional." GySgt Charles F.
