     Kiter Virginia Marley HICKORY – Kiter V. Marley went home to be with her Lord on March 12, 2010 surrounded by loved ones. She was born November 7, 1930 in Wilkes County to the late John C. and Lilly Hamby Marley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, George W. Marley, Jones E. Marley, Lester Marley, Marshall Marley, Junior Marley and Charlie Marley; sister, Jane M. Allen and nephew, Michael Marley, Sr. She is survived by sister, Jessie M. Allen of Hickory; 12 nieces, 8 nephews, several great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great great-great nieces and nephews. Kiter retired from Century Chair after 25 plus years of service. She had no children of her own but was a mother and grandmother figure to many of her nieces and nephews. She loved animals and flowers. She had a green thumb and could grow anything. She was a good cook and loved baking cakes for many occasions. She was kind, tender hearted, and generous but spoke her mind without censure when she thought the occasion called for it. She loved the Lord and was ready to meet Jesus. Her fingerprints are on many lives. She will live on in the hearts of many. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, March 15th at Catawba Funerals & Cremations at 11 a.m. with Pastor Scott Hooks and Rev. David Noyes officiating. Survivors include two daughters, Norma Wilcox of Boone, and Judy Psillas and husband, George, of Spartanburg, S.C; one son, Charles "Buz" Bumgarner and wife, Donna, of Las Cruces, New Mexico; six grandchildren, Dempsey Wilcox, III and wife, Margie, and Debra Wilcox of Boone, Vicki Huffman and husband, Andy Omundson of Greenwood, S.C., Patrick Huffman of Spartanburg, S.C., Cameron Bumgarner of Arizona and Leslie Bumgarner of New Mexico; three brothers, Joe, Bob and Dennis Wolfe; and three sisters, Gwendolyn Hart, Martha Brown, and Annie Ruth Laws. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W.
