Survivors include three sons, Leonard Wallens, Oldsmar, Fla., Eugene Wallens, Cleveland, Ohio, and Nathan Wallens, Walsenburg, Colo; five daughters, Rose Schiff, Tampa, Fla., Judy Morgan, Holly Ridge, N.C., Natalin Mays, Martinez, Jackie Melvin, Gastonia, N.C., and Leona Holley, Harlem; a brother, George E. Gunby, Harlem; a sister, Margaret Holzendorf, Thomson; and 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to: Harlem Memorial Cemetery, 190 S. Fairview Drive, Harlem, GA 30814; or St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, GA 30904. Friends may call at the residence. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m today at Starling Funeral Home. on January 20, 2001.¹

     Leonard D. Wallens was buried at Curlew Hills Cemetery, Palm Harbor, Pinellas Co., Florida.⁴ He was born on February 19, 1918 at Cook Co., Illinois.^6,7 He married Wilma Z. Rosenberg on July 12, 1936 at Cuyahoga Co., Ohio.² Leonard D. Wallens died on December 2, 2008 at Pinellas Co., Florida, at age 90.^6,3 He WALLENS, Leonard, of Clearwater, Fla., died December 2, 2008. He was a staff sergeant during World War II under General Patton. He is survived by a sister, Rose; brother, Eugene; and others. on December 5, 2008.³

     Sue Fertel was buried at Lake View Cemetery, 12316 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio.^2,3 She was born on September 5, 1929.⁴ As of August 15, 1950,her married name was Wallens.¹ She married Eugene Wallens, son of Harry Gershko Wallens and Bertha Roth, on August 15, 1950 at Cuyahoga Co., Ohio.^1,3 Sue Fertel died on February 8, 2008 at Ohio at age 78.⁴ She Sue Wallens (nee Fertel), beloved wife of Eugene; devoted mother of Billie Goldenberg (Leon) of Tampa and Robert Wallens (Shelly); dear sister of Raymond Mendelsohn (Marilyn Weston); cherished sister-in-law of Rose Schiff (Al) and Leonard Wallens; loving grandmother of Lisa and Amy Goldenberg, Ashley and Emily Wallens. Services will be held at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel, 1985 S. Taylor Rd., Cleveland Hts., Monday, Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. Interment Lake View Cemetery (Suburban Temple Section). on February 10, 2008.³
