Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. Mr. Booth was born to Henry "Buster" W. and Tabitha Newby Booth, in Pittsylvania County, Va. In 1934, he came to North Carolina and worked at Mock Judson Hosiery Mill. He was the owner and operator of PW Booth Grocery for approximately 12 years and also worked in the Wilmington shipyard during World War II. He retired in 1977, from Banner True Love. Mr. Booth was a member of Friendly Avenue Baptist Church for 50 years and served as past president of his Sunday school class and also on the finance committee. He was a member of the Oddfellows Club and enjoyed bird hunting. This past July, he and his wife, Irene Scoggins Booth, celebrated 69 years of marriage. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a host of nieces and nephews. His three sisters and brother preceded him in death. Visitation for Mr. Booth will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, N.C. 27405. on November 22, 2001.³

She was employed with Montaldo's until her retirement in 1977. She had been a member of Friendly Ave. Baptist Church since 1944, and then Lawsonville Road Baptist Church when she moved to Reidsville. Mrs. Booth was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Percy Booth in 2001 and brothers, Vance, Edward, Ralph and John Scoggins and sisters, Carrie Lee Farabee and Annie Fry. Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Lawsonville Road Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1584, Reidsville, NC 27323. The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at Hanes Lineberry N. Elm Chapel. on October 18, 2005.²

Maxey and her husband, Lloyd, of Goodview; two sons, Frankie W. Barker of Irnto, and John Morrison Barker of Java; one brother, Dorian Barker, and five grandchildren; a niece, Deborah, and a nephew, Steve, and many friends Graveside services will be conducted at Hillcrest Burial Park on Monday, March 3, at 3:00 p.m. with the Minister Terry W. Schultz officiating. Scott Funeral Home in Chatham is respectfully serving the Barker family. on March 3, 2008.²

     Peggy Geraldine Nunley Peggy Nunley Barker, Mar 31, 1945 - May 20, 2025. Peggy Geraldine Nunley Barker, 80, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Archie L. Nunley and the late Lucy Hartman Nunley. She was also preceded in death by a son, Eddie Blair. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Garden City and was retired from ITT in Roanoke. She is survived by a daughter, Jeanie Wickline; grandchildren, Amanda Leigh Blair, Jami Deen Wickline, and Shawn Lee Wickline; great-grandchildren, Tayten, Shaelyn, and Emerson Lee; siblings, Gertie Graves, Elwood Nunley and his wife Paulette, and G.K.
