In 1934, he came to North Carolina and worked at Mock Judson Hosiery Mill. He was the owner and operator of PW Booth Grocery for approximately 12 years and also worked in the Wilmington shipyard during World War II. He retired in 1977, from Banner True Love. Mr. Booth was a member of Friendly Avenue Baptist Church for 50 years and served as past president of his Sunday school class and also on the finance committee. He was a member of the Oddfellows Club and enjoyed bird hunting. This past July, he and his wife, Irene Scoggins Booth, celebrated 69 years of marriage. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a host of nieces and nephews. His three sisters and brother preceded him in death. Visitation for Mr. Booth will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, N.C. 27405. on November 22, 2001.3
