He was a member of the First Church of God at Davy, he had been a resident of Davy his entire life, and he was a retired, disabled miner. He was preceded in death by one son, Norman Patrick on July 26, 1972. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Amanda Laxton Patrick of Davy; five daughters, Mrs. Roy (Delores) Wingler of Twin Branch, Mrs. Lester (Evelyn) Ward of New Castle, Del., Mrs. Ron (Shirley) Wilkerson of Lima, Ohio, Mrs. Woodrow (Anita) Mullins of Caples and, Miss Veronica Sue Patrick of the home; three sons, Earl Patrick Jr. of Davy, Thomas Patrick of Lynchburg, Va., and Eldon Patrick of Crystal River, Fla; one brother, Fred Patrick of Roderfield; two sisters, Mary French of Virginia and Frances Guy of Roderfield; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the First Church of God in Davy with Rev. Claude Oliver and Rev. Roy Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Iaeger Memorial Cemetery at Roderfield. Pallbearers will be Sonny Urps, Carl Wayne Urps, Tommy Sizemore, Richard Morgan, Ray Cox and David Cox. She had been a lifelong resident of McDowell County. Survivors include her husband, Gaither Barnett; four daughters, Mrs. Ray (Joyce) Cox of Davy, Mrs. Thurman (Neda Gay) Helmandollar of Woodbridge, Va., and Linda Sue and Phyllis Ann Barnett of the home; two sons, Gene Barnett of Princeton and Jimmy Barnett of Davy; two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Mary) French of Portsmouth, Va., and Mrs. Frances Guy of Roderfield; two brothers, Earl Patrick of Davy, and Fred Patrick of Peoples, Ohio; and eight grandchildren. Friends may call at Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch today from 5 to 9 p.m. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services. on March 19, 1970.4
