Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2001 at Lotz Salem Chapel with Pastor David R. Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Salem. on March 2, 2001.³

     Roger Lee Gardner was born on January 12, 1950 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,2 He married Virginia Louise Atkins on August 16, 1969 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.¹ Roger Lee Gardner and Virginia Louise Atkins were divorced on June 11, 1973 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁴ Roger Lee Gardner married Hazel Yovone Barnett on July 5, 1973 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.¹ Roger Lee Gardner married Melissa Ann "Lisa" Lucas on July 4, 2004 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.^3,1 Roger Lee Gardner died on July 3, 2020 at Virginia at age 70.³ He Roger Lee Gardner, 70, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020, due to Pancreatic Cancer. He died peacefully at the river in his camper with his wife by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Lee Gardner and Alice Lousie Britt Gardner. Roger is survived by his loving wife, Melissa "Lisa" Lucas Gardner; stepsons, Ray G. Lucas, and Frank T. Lucas. He had two biological daughters, Michelle Gardner Leonard (Dave) and Katrina Gardner Melton (Wally). Roger has five grandchildren, Tori Leonard, Alex Leonard, Felix White, Reagan Lucas, and Lexus Melton. Roger had the best sister and his only sibling, Mae Louise Gardner Gibson. Roger loved Mae so much and we appreciate all the support and help she gave him. No memorial service will be given at this time because of the Corona Virus Covid-19. A celebration of life will be later in the summer at the New River Campground, Newport, Va. on July 5, 2020.³
