Alma graduated from Bluefield College in 1957 with a degree in accounting. She then spent the following years working in the accounting field in the Richmond area. She is a woman strong in faith and is a devoted member of Heritage Baptist Church. Alma cherished the simple things in life, her family, her friends and her faith.      Harry Lee Nugen was buried at Nugen Cemetery, Dempsey, Fayette Co., West Virginia.² He was born on June 11, 1922 at Fayette Co., West Virginia.^2,7,3,8 He died on March 3, 1945 at Germany at age 22.^2,7,8,4 He Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Nugen, of Fayetteville, route 2, have received word that their son, Corporal Harry Lee Nugen, was killed in action in Germany on March 3. Corporal Nugen was 22 years old and entered service on December 4, 1943. He underwent basic training at Camp Choffee, Arkansas and was home on furlough in June, 1944. He was sent overseas on December 1, 1944. His parents were notified that he was buried in Belgium. He is survived by his parents and one brother, Seaman Second Class Leonard Nugen, stationed with the navy in the South Pacific; and two sisters, Faye and Martha Nugen, both at home. on April 4, 1945.⁴

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Wellman, parents Ottie & Katherine Herndon, sisters Janet Perry and Mary Maher, brothers Junior, Jim, John, Bob & Larry; her daughter-in-law Diana Wellman and son-in-law Kent Haga. She is survived by her daughter Melody Haga, sons Ernie and Mike Wellman, grandchildren Chris, Mike, Heather, Brooke, Ashley, Ryan, Jody, Heather, Matthew & Joshua, great grandchildren Liam, Hadley & Emerson, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. Bonnie loved her family, West Virginia, watching her favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys, favorite baseball team the Texas Rangers and hosting countless parties at Bonnie’s Party Palace. Although she loved her family dearly, she had a special bond with her great grandson, Liam, who she cared for from birth until Kindergarten. She was the daughter of the Late Arval Lee and Lorna Mary Tresa Hoar Elliott. She was a retired waitress at Gino's and was a member of the Ansted Baptist Church of Ansted.
