Edith Lowanda Ratliff was buried at Bryson Family Cemetery, Maple Meadow, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.1 Her married name was Bryson.1 She married Clatis Dale "Bunny" Bryson, son of Jessie Crockett Bryson and Rosina Lindy Webb.1 Edith Lowanda Ratliff was born on March 17, 1935.2 She died on September 27, 2014 at West Virginia at age 79.1 She Heaven gained the most beautiful angel on Saturday, Sept. 27th, 2014. With outstretched arms, our Lord and Jesus Christ greeted our mom, Edith Lowanda Ratliff Bryson of Tolleytown Road, at her home of 56 years, surrounded by her children. She peacefully entered her eternal home in Heaven. Edith was the daughter of the late Ira Ratliff and Lona M. Trump. She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Clatis "Bunny" Bryson; two sisters, Emma Workman and Della Richmond; a very special nephew, Jimmy Joe Ratliff; an infant brother and an infant daughter. She is survived by her four children, Ricky Bryson and his wife, Daisy of Fairdale, Johnny Bryson and his wife, Polly of Glen Rogers, Linda McCabe-Eaton and her husband, Randy of Tolleytown and Jeannie Basham and her husband, T.J. of Surveyor; other survivors include a very special nephew who resided with her at Tolleytown, Luke Trump and precious brother, Robert Ratliff of Amigo. Edith was the very proud "Mommaw" of nine grandsons, Ricky Bryson II, Johnny Wayne Bryson, Michael Bryson, Clatis Lee Bryson, Roger Bryson, Shane Messer, Jacob Basham, Jared Basham, and Joshua McCabe. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren. A devoted wife, a loving mom, and a woman that held onto her faith, Edith put the Lord above all in her life. She was a wonderful role model to her entire family, and was loved by everyone who met her. Edith was a member of the Coal Marsh Missionary Baptist Church in Glen Daniel where she attended faithfully until her illness. She loved being a part of the prayer group committee. She has a host of nieces, nephews and friends that she loved her dearly. A sincere thanks to the Hospice Home Health nurses who were so compassionate and helpful throughout her last few weeks and hours with us. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct. 1st, at 11 a.m. at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Scott Kennedy will be officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, Sept. 30th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the mortuary and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday. Burial will follow in the Bryson Cemetery at Maple Meadow. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ricky, Johnny Wayne, Clatis Lee, Michael, Shane and Jacob. on September 30, 2014.1
