     Verlin Lowell Howell Verlin Lowell Howell, passed away on November 6, 2011, at the age of 79 at the Tri-City Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family. Verlin was born on June 29, 1932, in Tipton County, Indiana, to parents Willard and Dorothy Howell. He served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954. Verlin married Donna on December 1, 1954. He retired in 1994 as a Millwright Master Mechanic with Boise Cascade Container. Verlin was a member of the Moose Lodge and Retreads Car Club. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, reading and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed collecting clocks and knives. He is survived by his wife Donna of 56 years; sons Randy (Ann), Scott (Denise) of Pasco; Mike (Karen) of Burbank; brothers, Darrell (Shirley) and Ronald (Judy), both from Indiana; stepbrother Joe (Pat); stepsisters Becky (Dudley), Sara (Dick) and Roberta; grandchildren Kristi (Wil), Kevin (Yvonne), Jerad (Sarah), Angie (Nic), Haylea (Casey), Jesse (Jennifer), Josh (Lauren), Jack (Wendy), Katie; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Elmer Graf, brother Kenneth, stepbrothers Bud and Earl Fredrick, stepsister JoAnna, son Barry, and great-granddaughter Alivia. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011, 1 p.m. at Hillcrest Bruce Lee Memorial Center, 2804 W. She was born Sept. 9, 1947, in Peru, to Sam and Amanda (Bontrager) Miller. On March 6, 1976, she married Ronald Howell in Greentown, and he survives. She worked at Delco for 30 years until her retirement in 1998 and was a member of Local UAW 292.. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents; her children, Marvin (Jody) Howell, Greentown, Ronda (John) Malloy, Ellenton, Florida, Karen Herron, Kokomo, Kevin (Michelle) Howell, Fishers, and Troy Howell (Holly Miles), Indianapolis; grandchildren, Kenneth, Daniel, Jillian, Raynee and Ashlee; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Don (Pam) Miller, Somerset, Kentucky; two sisters, Janet (Amos) Miller, Middlebury, and Cindy (Larry) Miller, Amboy; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, with Pastor Lynn Coleman. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. on November 26, 2014.1

     Beth Ann Bragg Beth Bragg Jones, 41, of Lynchburg, Va., went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, September 23, 2017. She was the loving wife of Jason Jones for 21 years and an amazing mother to her two children, Landon and Hailey Jones. Beth was born Sunday, August 8, 1976 in Lynchburg, Va. a daughter of Hugh B. Bragg and Shirley O. Bragg. Beth graduated from Centra School of Nursing with her associate’s degree and went on to earn her B.S. of Nursing from Liberty University. Beth worked as a registered nurse with Centra Health for 18 years and was loved by her fellow nurses and patients. She put forth as much love and care as she would for her own family. She was a member of Penuel Baptist church, then transferred to Thomas Road Baptist Church. Every spare moment was spent with her family. Some of the best memories were made on family vacations. She always put her family first and sacrificed to give her kids a Christian education. In addition to her husband, parents, and children, she is survived by her sister, Tammy Bragg Cox, wife to Tony Cox and her brother, Jonathan H. Bragg, husband to Aerial Bragg. She was preceded in death by her aunt, Betty Holdren, who was like a grandmother to her. Immediately following the service, the funeral procession will travel to Mount Hermon United Methodist Church, Lynch Station, Va. to lay her to rest.3 She was buried at Mount Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery, Big Island, Bedford Co., Virginia.3 She was born on August 8, 1976 at Lynchburg, Virginia.2,3 As of August 31, 1996,her married name was Jones.1 She married Jason David Jones, son of Gary Lance Jones and Dana Raye Howell, on August 31, 1996 at Campbell Co., Virginia.1,3 Beth Ann Bragg died on September 23, 2017 at Lynchburg, Virginia, at age 41.3

He was 93 years old. Bill spent most of his life in Crown Hill as a coalminer where he received his 60-year pin from the WVCMA District 17. He was known as a man who loved the river, to fish, to tell stories, to laugh and to eat Tootsie Roll Pops. Bill enjoyed the companionship of his dog, Milo, and his cat, Tom. Bill was a simple man who thought always of his family. "... He was an old coalminer who worked hard all his life to support six kids and a wife." He was preceded in death by one son, Frank "Frankie" of Hazelton, Pa., and one grandson Robert "Bobbie" Coleman of Newark, Delaware. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, Margaret of Hansford; along with five children, Billie Jean Coleman of Modena, Pa., Wanda Elswick of Hansford, Ronnie Petry and her husband, Butch, of Hurricane, Dale and his wife, Sherry, of East Bank, Anthony and his wife, Lois, of Fredericksburg, Va., and Lana Elswick daughter in law of Hazelton, PA. He was also survived by 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his wife and family and a host of friends from Crown Hill and Hansford. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 15, at J. E. Johnson Funeral Home in Kanawha City with Carl Petry officiating. Burial will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. on August 13, 2005.2

Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Sherrie; children, Jeremy Elswick and wife Samantha of Belle, and daughter, Erica Elswick of Chesapeake; mother, Margaret Elswick of Hansford; sisters, Billie O'Neal and husband George of Crown Hill, Wanda Elswick of Hansford, Ronnie Petry and husband Butch of Hurricane; brother, Anthony Elswick and wife Lois of Locust Grove, Va; two grandchildren, Madison and Braden Elswick; sister-in-law, Lana Elswick; a host of nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Basha, Dr. Khalid and the staff of 5 South and SICU at CAMC Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Pryor Funeral Home, East Bank, with the Rev. Don Dobbins officiating. Burial will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Garden, Glasgow. Mr. Adkins was a WWII Navy veteran and a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a Mason, Coal Valley Lodge #74 of Montgomery, WV, Shriner, Beni Kedem Temple of Charleston, WV , member of the York Rite, as well as a member of the Eastern Star Winyah 148 in Georgetown, SC. Mr. Adkins was a retired manager with Imperial Colliery Coal Company who enjoyed woodworking as a hobby. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Betty Lou Adkins; a daughter, Rita A. Hutchinson (Al) of Pawleys Island; two grandchildren, Tara Clemmons (Steve) of North Myrtle Beach and Tawnya Sherer (Duncan) of Myrtle Beach; three great grandchildren, Harrison, Carter and Taylor; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Harry Adkins Jr. and Gaylord Adkins.
