Estes; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Jeffrey Altizer of Riner; and one precious granddaughter, Kayla Elizabeth Altizer. Other survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Darrell Harrison; two brothers and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Joann Estes, Freddie Estes, all of Riner; brother-in-law and his wife, John and Anna Bell of Roanoke; a sister-in-law and her husband, Sylvia and Elliott Reese of Pilot; along with several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to care givers, Jean and Clinton Marshall, Theresa Smart, Les and Joyce Pugh, Chole Bishop, Denny and Judy Wells, also the staff of Hospice and Carilion Home Health Care and the Maintenance Department at the Lynchburg Foundry. The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2001 in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Turpin and the Rev. James Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Erma had been employed at Owens-Illinois Glass Co., Streator. She was an active member of Ransom United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She attended Poca W. Virginia grade schools and Poca High School. She is survived by one daughter, Deborah (Michael) Keesee, Ransom, one son, Forrest “Ray” (Laura) Paxton Jr., Clinton, eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Elaine Thorn, one grandson, Joshua “Ray” Paxton , two sisters, Irene Daughety and Rosa Wright. Pallbearers will be Dave Slusarski, Jerry Diss, Reid Nettlingham, Bill Wiess, Chad Burns and Mark Stull. Mamie leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews one special nephew and wife, Ed and Rebecca Chapman and daughters Allyson and Hailey of St. Albans, W.Va. She will be greatly missed by two special friends, Marsha Webb and Shelba Darst. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. on March 14, 2002.2
