He was born Dec. 25, 1932, in Eugene to Elmer and Ellinor Kocks Borgaard. He married Lois Gibson on Dec. 12, 1958, in Elmira. Borgaard served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a restaurant owner. Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael of Sacramento; a daughter, Melinda Mead of Canby; two brothers, Richard of Prineville and Norman of Powell Butte; and three grandchildren.
