Born in Charleston, he was the son of the late William Henry and Hilda Shober Truslow. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Truslow was retired from Union Carbide. He was a member of Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Betty Jarvis Truslow; daughter, Amy T. Cantey (Joe) of Camden; sons, James F. Truslow of Camden and John J. Truslow of Steamboat Springs, Colo; four grandchildren; brother, Andy Truslow of Charleston; and sister, Helen Connor of Ala. He was past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of West Virginia and a past Master of the Chelyan Lodge #158 AF & AM. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and a lifelong resident of Belle. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Coon; daughter, Rebecca Coon of Belle; nephew, James D. West of Austin, Texas. Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, Glasgow, with Rev. Ron Burnsworth and the Rev. Lloyd Daubenspeck officiating. Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum. The only visitation will be one hour before the service at the Mausoleum Chapel. He was an independent motor route carrier for the Charleston Newspapers. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a native of Roane County and had lived in Belle the past 20 years. Surviving: wife, Stella Jarvis; sister, Virginia Coon of Belle; half sister, Judy Harper of Belle. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at Witcher Memorial Gardens, Witcher Creek, Belle, with the Rev. Ron Burnsworth and the Rev. John Adkins officiating. Burial will be in the Old Witcher Cemetery. (he was apparently buried in Kanawha Memorial Gardens) There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
