Hipps.1 Margery Holt was born on December 12, 1926 at Tennessee.2,4 She Margery Holt Hipps, 85, of the Walkertown community, passed away Tuesday at her home. Mrs. Hipps retired from Magnavox. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She will be lovingly remembered for her home being open to family, friends and neighbors. There was always room for one more plate to be set at her table and plenty of southern hospitality for everyone. Beautiful memories were created by her and will be cherished. She will be greatly missed and a void will remain in our lives. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Phyllis and Gary Arrington; a granddaughter and her husband: Brandi and David Glasscock; one brother: H.T. Holt of Afton; her sisters-in-law: Carolee Holt of Greeneville, Ollie Bell Vaughn of Nashville, Hannah Arrington of Tappahannock, Va., Vevel Hipps of Greeneville, Millie Hipps of Appomattox, Va., Joyce Hipps of Evergreen, Va., Gertrude Hipps of Cortland, Ill., and Lois Hipps of Anniston, Ala; a brother-in-law: Troy Chandler of Afton; and several nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late A.J. and Trula Babb Holt and was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Hipps; a sister, Goldean Chandler; and a brother, Leon Holt. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Eddie Malone and the Rev. Martha Moore Beamer will officiate. Family and friends will meet at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home to go in procession to Mount Zion Cemetery for a 2:30 p.m. committal service. Pallbearers will be Raymond Reynolds, Frank Barwick, Roger Henry, David Glasscock, Ben Melton, and David Melton. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Charles Montgomery, the staff of Amedisys Home Health and Hospice, the staff of Advantage Home Health and Hospice, and her special caregivers: Mary Britton, Beatrice Scharhag, Margaret Manuel, Wanda Malone, Chelsey and Shannon Lowe, Tina Wall, and the staff of Heavenly Sunshine Senior Services. on March 13, 2012.1 She died on March 13, 2012 at Walkertown, Greene Co., Tennessee, at age 85.4,1

Surviving, in addition to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Holt, are the following brothers and sisters: Sam, Mabry, Frank, Clara, Lena and Mrs. Roxie Bowles, all of Callaway, and Essie Holt, of Roanoke. The funeral was conducted from the Salem church in Floyd county. on May 4, 1936.2 He Trial of Jack Pinkard, charged with the murder of Zack Holt, of Callaway, is scheduled to start in Franklin county circuit court Monday. Pinkard has been at liberty on bond of $5,000 since the shooting on May 3. Pinkard surrendered after the shooting, claiming, officers said, that he acted in self-defense, Holt was said to have been shot at a dance in an abandoned house near Callaway. on June 27, 1936.7
