Ronald was a member of South Side Christian Church, EAA Chapter 235 as treasurer/secretary for several years, photo & computer clubs in Sarasota. Ron quietly showed his love to his family and friends with his smile. He enjoyed playing the dulcimer that he built in the wood shop at Horseshoe Cove RV Park that they lived in, in the winter months for 16 years. Ronald was an aviation lover he held a private pilots licenses since 1976 and owned 2 airplanes. Vacations were planed around 2 air shows in Lakeland, FL and Osk, WI. Ronald enjoyed traveling, photography, wood carving and cross-word puzzles after his retirement in 1996. Survivors include his wife Nancy Harper of Kokomo; sons Michael E. (Penny) Harper, Donald D. He was born August 26, 1958, in Howard County, to Ronald and Linda (Chism) Harper. On June 25, 1993, he married Penny Hinderer, in Townsend, Tennessee, and she survives. Michael graduated from Northwestern High School in 1976. He also attended and graduated from Ball State Paramedic School and from the Police Academy in 2002. He worked for several years as a paramedic for Howard Community Hospital, served eight years as a Howard County deputy coroner under coroner Jeff Stout, worked for the Crawfordsville Fire Department, volunteered on the Indian Heights and Russiaville Fire Departments, served as Russiaville Deputy Town Marshall for six years and worked as a Howard County Dispatcher for a short time. He was a member of Crossroads Community Church, where he served on the security team. He was also a member of Russiaville Masonic F&AM Lodge #82 and Howard County EMA, where he served as communication and training director. He enjoyed following the weather on Facebook. In addition to his wife, Penny Harper, Russiaville, he is survived by his son, Andrew (Jennifer) Harper, Kokomo; daughter, Jessica (Bo) Stephan, Lafayette; grandchildren, Alexis Harper, Summer Harper, Kaitlyn Harper, Kaylee Joy and Kendra Joy; brothers, Don (Kathryn) Harper, Frankfort, and Ted (Anne) Love, Nappanee; sister, Tammy Graves, Kokomo; step-brother, Dave Moser, Kokomo; step-mother, Nancy Harper, Kokomo; mother-in-law, Connie Combs, Wauchula, Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Cyndy Taylor, Kokomo; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Bill graduated from Kokomo High School in 1956 and maintained many of those friends throughout the years. He worked at Chrysler Casting Plant for 31 years until his retirement in 1991. Most recently, he was employed for Button Motors. Bill was a member of the Moose Lodge, Blue Lodge, and Scottish Right Indianapolis. He was also a 32nd degree Mason. Bill loved spending time with family and he was always helping others. He also loved fishing, snowmobiling, camping, tinkering, attending grandchildren's sporting events, and spending time in Florida with dear friends. He was a special friend to neighbors and was always ready to provide a helping hand. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary; son, Wayne (Kim) Nicholson; daughter, Dana (Scott) Benic; brother, Robert (Sue) Nicholson; sister-in-law, Roberta Nicholson; grandchildren, Jeremy (Leslie) Downs, Mistie (Downs) Jinks, Matthew Nicholson, Mike (Kerrie) Nicholson; great-grandchildren, Paiten Bell, Lainee Downs, Lymree Downs, Hadlie Jinks, Jeffrey and Lauren Jones; great great grandchild, Jace Jones; and special friends, Billy Joe "Bill" and Ida Reel. Chumbley Jr. will be held in Shawano sometime in early July of this year. “The family thanks the personal caregivers that cared for Chuck throughout the years as well as the staff of the Shawano Medical Center including the hospital and emergency room staff and also the Shawano Ambulance Service. "Rutha" Eggleston, circa 1927.1,2,3 Juanita Caruthers died on June 14, 2004 at Tiltonsville, Jefferson Co., Ohio, at age 96.2 She Juanita Clower, 96, Route 1, Rayland, Ohio, died Monday, June 14, 2004, at her daughter's home on Grandview Avenue, Tiltonsville. She was born June 6, 1908 at Plymouth, W.Va., daughter of the late Charles and Anna Bess Caruthers. She was a member of the Meadowbrooke Church of God, Rayland, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Clower (1982); a son, Leonard Clower; and three brothers, Burton, Charles and Harold Caruthers. Surviving are a son William Clower and his wife, Marge, Bridgeport; two daughters, Ruth Burley and her husband, Charles Kenneth of Tiltonsville and Vivian Luzar and her husband Steve, Tiltonsville; a daughter-in-law, Linda Clower, Clermont, Indiana; two sisters, Mrs. Otto (Thelma) Jensen, Yorkville and Talma Leoney, Powhatan Point, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tuesday evening, 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friends will then be received at the Meadowbrooke Church of God, Rayland, Thursday, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. with Reverand Marvin Schooler. Burial follows at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Meadowbrooke Church of God Building Fund. on June 15, 2004.2
