Millway, circa 1955.1,2 Betty Jean Unknown died on February 5, 2008 at Virginia at age 72.2,3 She Betty Jean Caldwell, 72, passed away Tuesday Feb. 5, 2008. A native of Horry County, S. C., Betty moved to the Peninsula in the early 1950's. She joined Victory Baptist Church shortly after moving to the area and has been a faithful member every since. Betty was a loving and caring mother and wife, making a wonderful home for her family. She always was attentive to the needs of her household, meticulously stretching sometimes modest resources, where nobody wanted for anything. She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Caldwell. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra F. & Carl Warner; sons and daughter-in-law, Randall S. & Leslie B. Caldwell Sr., Arnold Ray Faircloth; sister, Isla Louise Hughes; grandchildren, Kimlee Benson and fiancee, David Bass, Kara Warner and fiancee, Kenny Eanes, Randall S. Caldwell Jr., Lucille Ellis Shirk and husband, David, Hannah E. Cordero and husband, Brian; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn A. Benson, Taylor Bass, Cameron J. Warner, Adrianna E. Shirk, and Rebecca Shirk. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday Feb. 9, 2008, at Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Samuel Hyde officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. Service arrangements are under the care of Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home 2551 N. Armistead Ave. Hampton. on February 7, 2008.2

She was the wife of the late Howard Benton Hannah, Jr. Born in Craig County on May 8, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth Randolph Webb and Maude Looney Webb. She was a member of Meade Memorial Methodist Church for 40 years; member of the Sunshine Club and volunteered at the thrift shop in Evington. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Walter Webb. She is survived by a son, Randy Hannah and wife, Ellen of Evington; a grandson, Sonny Hannah of Rustburg; three stepgrandchildren, Sgt. Joseph Tomlin and wife, Marie of Sebring, Fla., Mike Tomlin and wife, Stacey of Madison Heights and Chris Tomlin of Evington. A graveside funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2007 in Huffman Memorial Park, Newcastle, Va. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Service. Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory, (434) 239-2405 is assisting the family. on March 15, 2007.1

Preceding her in death was her husband of almost 28 years, Richard; her parents, Emmett and Pauline Myers; and her most special feline friend of over 21 years, Fleep Andrew. Her passing marks the end of her 24 year battle with breast cancer. Born on January 12, 1943, Pat was a lifelong resident of Roanoke, until her heart called her to Texas. There, she spent the last nine years of her life in the loving care of her children and grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lynn and husband, Dwayne, of Pflugerville, Texas; her son, Rick and wife, Katha, of Hutto, Texas; her four beautiful grandchildren, Abigail and Jackson Schiller, and Kylie and Kayla Ferguson; her mother-in-law, Rebecca Ferguson, of Lawrence, Mass; a brother-in-law; three sisters-in-law; a great many cousins, nieces and nephews; and many loving friends, including her best friends Belva Forbes and Libby Campbell. Lynn and Rick wish to thank Dr. Darren Kocs and his staff at Texas Oncology for providing superior care to their mother over the last four years, the staff at Lighthouse Hospice at Altenheim for providing compassionate, loving care to their mother in her final days, and the scores of family members and friends who have offered love and support throughout this difficult period. on March 11, 2012.3
