She was a member of Ansted Freewill Baptist Church of Ansted and a homemaker. Dollie is survived by 4 daughters: Drema Treadway and Jack of Scarbro, Lorraine Wellman of Tennessee, Arlene Nesiba and Marvin of Nebraska, Marlene Somers and Greg of North Carolina; 2 sons, Eugene Skaggs and Mary of Middlesex, North Carolina, Charles Emerson Skaggs and Cathy Johnson of Ansted; 4 sisters, Nellie Wavelin of Hico, Bertha Carte of Oak Hill, Beulah of Michigan, Velva McClung of Ohio; 4 brothers, Shirley Sorrell of Oak Hill, Roy Sorrell of Hilton Village, Elbert Sorrell of Mississippi, Gary Sorrell of Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Ansted with Ron Persinger officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens in Victor. Friends may call at the Funeral Home Chapel, Tuesday, April 3, 2012, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wallace & Wallace of Ansted is in charge of the arrangements. on April 2, 2012.1

Born Nov. 18, 1930, in Ansted, he was the son of the late Charles D. and Bertie J. Cole Skaggs. Mr. Skaggs was a member of the Ansted Freewill Baptist Church in Ansted, a Korean War veteran and a retired coal miner. Surviving: his wife of 52 years, Dollie Skaggs; daughters, Dreama Treadway and her husband, Jack, of Scarbro, Lorraine Wellman of Maryland, Arlene Nesiba and her husband, Marvin, of Nebraska, and Marlen Somers and her husband, Greg, of North Carolina; sons, Eugene Skaggs and his wife, Mary, of North Carolina, and Charles Emerson Skaggs and his wife, Freda, of Craigsville; sisters, Mary Withrow and Doris Hawkins, both of Ansted; brothers, Alfred Skaggs of Ansted and Douglas Skaggs of Ohio; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Aug. 9 at 2 p.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ansted, with the Pastor Ron Persinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Restlawn Memory Gardens at Victor. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Ansted and Gauley Bridge VFW. Arrangements by Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ansted. on August 9, 2007.2
