Strow on January 27, 1957 at Paris, Edgar Co., Illinois.¹ Donald Lee Bouslog died on January 21, 2011 at Chrisman, Edgar Co., Illinois, at age 78.¹ He CHRISMAN, Ill. — Donald Lee Bouslog, 78, of Chrisman, Ill., passed away at 3:39 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman. He retired in 1998 after over 30 years with Illinois Cereal Mills, and also farmed in the Chrisman area for many years. He was born Nov. 12, 1932, in Edgar County, Ill., the son of the late Charley R. and Noma Belle (Fulton) Bouslog. He married Joyce A. Strow on Jan. 27, 1957, at First United Methodist Church in Paris, Ill., and she survives. Other survivors include a son, Garrett Lee Bouslog of Paris, Ill; two daughters, Lori Ann Bouslog and Susan Marie Fox and husband Philip, all of Paris; a stepdaughter, Debra Kay Barnes and husband Randall of Clinton, Ind; a brother, Nye Bouslog of Macomb, Ill; three grandchildren, Dillon Ryan Garver, Joshua Lee Bouslog and Bailey Lynn Bouslog; two stepgrandchildren, Brock and Blake Barnes; a sister-in-law, Anna Lee Bouslog of Urbana, Ill; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, H. Dane Bouslog, Victor D. Bouslog and W. Allen Bouslog. Mr. Bouslog was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Chrisman United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 211, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3601, Paris Lodge 268, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons, Edgar County Farm Bureau, Illinois Beef Association and BCTGM 115. His proudest accomplishment was seeing his family farm recognized as an Illinois Centennial Farm in 2010. Services celebrating his life will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery, south of Chrisman. Full military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 211 and VFW Post 3601. Masonic rites will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, by Paris Lodge 268 A.F. & A.M., with visitation to follow from 4 to 8 p.m. For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to D.O. it!      Nye Fulton Bouslog was buried at Saint Pauls Cemetery, Macomb, McDonough Co., Illinois.³ He was born on June 27, 1920 at Paris, Edgar Co., Illinois.^5,3 He married Joan Curl on July 19, 1945.^3,6 Nye Fulton Bouslog died on September 29, 2011 at Peoria, Peoria Co., Illinois, at age 91.^5,3 He MACOMB - Nye Fulton Bouslog, 91, of Macomb, Ill., passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at OSF Saint Francis Hospital in Peoria. His death followed a short illness.Nye was born on June 27, 1920, in Paris, Ill. He was one of five boys born to Charley and Noma Fulton Bouslog.He graduated from Paris High School in 1938 and the University of Illinois in 1944.He married Joan Curl on July 19, 1945. She preceded him in death on May 2, 2011. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in the summer of 2010.Nye served in the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant. He was part of the Western defense command and occupation forces in Europe at the end of the war.Nye and Joan had four children, Carol Koestner of Macomb, Steve (Carla) Bouslog of Princeton and John (Jill) Bouslog of Urbandale, Iowa. Their daughter Lynn Bouslog died in 1997 in a tragic accident.He will be lovingly remembered by his children, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.In addition to Joan and their daughter Lynn, he was preceded in death by his parents and all four brothers, Dane of Chrisman, Victor of Paris, Allen of Urbana and Donald of Chrisman.Nye and Joan moved to Macomb in 1946. Nye served as the farm advisor for the U of I Extension Service. He later worked for the UnionNational Bank of Macomb, rising to the position of executive vice president. It was during his tenure he earned distinction as a business man, agricultural leader and a community volunteer.Following his banking career, he worked for the U of I and was active in the Macomb real estate market, having ended his real estate career at the age of 90.Nye belonged to the Macomb Rotary Club for over 64 years. He earned the Lifetime Outstanding and Dedicated Service Award in 1995. He served as district governor in 1980-1981. He was also past president and a Paul Harris Fellow. Nye served on the Board of Directors for Union National Bank and the State Bank of Industry.He was a member of the Macomb Elks Lodge, American Legion Post 6, Macomb Country Club, Lamoine Valley Board of Realtors and the W.I.U. Foundation. He was a contributing writer for the Prairie Farmer magazine for 25 years. He also served 12 years on the Board of Education for the Macomb Public Schools. Nye has been an active member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, served on the Parish Council and St. Paul Cemetery Board.Nye's family would like to thank the physicians and staff of St. Francis Hospital and Heartcare Midwest for their care and compassion during his illness.      Joan Curl was buried at Saint Pauls Cemetery, Macomb, McDonough Co., Illinois.² She was born on October 12, 1924 at Paris, Edgar Co., Illinois.^3,2 As of July 19, 1945,her married name was Bouslog.¹ She married Nye Fulton Bouslog, son of Charles Rawley "Charley" Bouslog and Noma Belle Fulton, on July 19, 1945.^1,2 Joan Curl died on May 2, 2011 at Macomb, McDonough Co., Illinois, at age 86.^1,2,3 She Joan Curl Bouslog passed away peacefully at 1:20 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2011, at McDonough District Hospital. Her death ended a 25- year courageous battle with diabetes and complications which followed. Joan was born on Oct. 12, 1924, in Paris. She was one of 10 children born to Roy and Margaret Englum Curl. Having grown up during the Great Depression, she enjoyed sharing stories of her family's struggles, sacrifices and successes. She graduated in 1942 from Paris High School. Following her formal education, she was a secretary at the Illinois Cereal Mills in Paris and Howe Lincoln Mercury in Macomb. However, the job that she was the proudest of was being the secretary of St. Paul Catholic School in Macomb for 20 years as it allowed her to practice her faith, which was very important to her, and mentor children every day. She was also an avid bridge player and played in several bridge groups in the community. Joan married the love of her life, Nye Bouslog, on July 19, 1945. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last summer. They were true models of love, devotion, and commitment to one another. While Joan has left her earthly life, their love for one another will continue forever. Joan and Nye had four children, Carol Koestner, of Macomb; Steve (Carla) Bouslog, of Princeton and John (Jill) Bouslog, of Urbandale, Iowa. Their daughter, Lynn Bouslog, died in 1997, in a tragic accident. Joan was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
