She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Edgar Craft in 1992. She is survived by one son, Stephen Craft of Chesterfield County; three daughters, Faye Hunter of Forest, Gaye Arritt of Woodbridge, and Paula Craft of Midlothian; 10 grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. Polly was born September 6, 1922 in Dinwiddie County, Virginia to the late Rufus Alfred and Edmonia Brough Echols. She was retired from the C & O Railroad in 1984 as Division Storekeeper and moved to Richmond in 1993. A service in honor of Polly’s life will be held on Saturday, February 14 at 2:00 p.m.in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Glenn Clements officiating. The family will meet with those who wish to express condolences on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at Nicely Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held for Polly at Bon Air Christian Church, 2071 Buford Road, Richmond, Va. 23235 on Saturday, February 28, at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Mrs. Craft was born April 20, 1917 in Romona, S.D., a daughter of the late John Franklin Clarkson and Olga Lebahan Clarkson. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and a retired nurse with Stonewall Jackson Hospital for 25 years. Mrs. Craft was with the U.S. Army Corps of Nursing during World War II, 1942-1945. She was the widow of Adolphus Craft. Surviving are one son, Michael Ray Craft, Buena Vista; two sisters, Ms. Vera Crawford, Covington, Mrs. Virona Beyer, Romona, S.D; four brothers, Lloyd Clarkson, Huntington Park, Calif., Emory Clarkson, Free Union, Va., Raymond Clark, Memphis, Tenn., Bruce Clarkson, Covington, Va. Memorial services will be conducted 3 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 1992 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Lane officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Arrangements by Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington. on December 2, 1992.1

Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday after 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions maybe made to the College Lutheran Church or to the Salem Volunteer Rescue Squad. on March 27, 1997.2
