Clarence was a carpenter, and devout Christian all his life. He published “Poets for Christ” at New Life Church. Surviving in addition to his wife is a sister, Elsie M. Surface of Salem, VA and a brother, Larry W. King of Ormond Beach, FL; daughter-in-law, Tracy King of Hanover, PA; and 2 grandsons, Austin W. King and Joshua L. King. He was predeceased by a son, Stephen Star King in January of 2015, and by a brother, Aven King. He was employed by Advance Auto for the last 14 years and retired from the City of Salem with 32 years of service. Also, Charlie was a devoted lifetime member of Lakeside Baptist Church. Charles is survived by his wife, Linda of 45 years; two sisters-in-law, Carol Huynh and husband, John, Connie Hunter and husband, Bill; nephews, Audie, Beau, Will and wife, Jennifer; niece, Jennifer Whitlock and husband, Mike. Surface of 1766 Paxton Ave., Salem, died Thursday at a Charlottesville hospital. Also surviving are three sisters, Linda Mae, Carolyn Pearl and Connie Louise Surface, at home. on October 28, 1960.³

     Larry Willie King was buried at Volusia Memorial Park, Ormond Beach, Volusia Co., Florida.⁷ He Larry W. King, 76, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away on Thursday October 14, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 17, 1944 in Roanoke, Virginia to the late Robert Lee and Thelma Pearl King. In 1964 he moved to the Ormond Beach area from Virginia and retired after 20 years as a Butcher for Winn Dixie, mostly at the Winn Dixie in Bellaire Plaza. He also retired from Walmart in Ormond Beach after ten years and prior to that was employed for "White Acres" for ten years in Port Orange. Larry was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during Vietnam. He loved woodworking of which he was extremely talented. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sarah; Daughter, Laura (John) King Leventis of San Juan, Capistrano, CA; Son, John (Jameane) King of Ormond Beach, FL; Six Grandchildren and One Great-Grandchild. Ms. Bausell is survived by a son, Marko Wilson of Salem, Va; four daughters, Lois Morgan of Mamers, Shenna Warren and Kathy Griggs, both of Sanford, and Linda Davis of Tennessee; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends after the service at graveside. on May 25, 2003.²
