In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Joanne Lapole of New Church; two sons, Jesse Goodwin and Garland Goodwin Jr., also of New Church; two sisters, Lelia Sweet and Jessie L. Hale, both of Roanoke; and six grandchildren. on April 2, 1992.⁹
