     Richard Milliard Kelly was buried at Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, Ogden, Weber Co., Utah.³ He was born on January 27, 1935 at Helen, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.^5,3 He married Cornelia Ann Custer, daughter of Elisha Barnard Custer and Vivian Blanche Wilson, on February 1, 1957 at Roanoke, Virginia.^6,4,7 Richard Milliard Kelly died on August 19, 2011 at Utah at age 76.^5,3 He Richard M. Kelly, 76, Chief Master Sgt., USAF (Ret.), passed away peacefully on Friday, August 19, 2011. He was born on January 27, 1935, in Helen, W.Va. He married the love of his life, Cornelia Ann Custer, on February 1, 1957, in Roanoke, Va. They are the parents of three wonderful children. Richard served proudly as a member of the United States Air Force, retiring in January, 1986 after 31 years of service. He also served as a civil servant at Hill Air Force Base for 10 years. He was a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church, and served faithfully as a deacon for many years. He was greatly loved by his church family. Richard is survived by his wife; his sons, Arnold of St. Louis, Mo., and Gerald of Layton, Utah; daughter, Cindy (Earl) Baker, of Layton, Utah; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He also is survived by a brother, Wallace (Nancy) Kelly, of Daleville, Va. Richard was greatly loved by his family. We were truly blessed to have him as a husband, father, grandfather and brother. Interment will be held at Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, Ogden. on August 23, 2011.⁶

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Sr. and Virginia Shorter. Mrs. Ellis was a long-time employee of Pearle Vision Center. She loved gardening, spending weekends at the lake, and her two cats. She is survived by her husband, Gary Ellis; son, Duane Ellis and wife, Denise, of Salem; three brothers, Frank B. Shorter, Jr. and wife, Marie, of Michigan, Robert W. Shorter and wife, Doris, of Roanoke, and Karl Shorter and wife, Judy, of Roanoke; and two sisters, Rita Crane and husband, Carlos, of Roanoke, and Kathryn Hurt of Roanoke. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. Michael Duvall and the Rev. Bob West officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Oakey's North Chapel. on December 6, 2004.¹

     Frank Benjamin Shorter Jr. Frank Benjamin Shorter, Jr., age 81, of Ypsilanti, MI, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in North Carolina. He was born March 7, 1934 in Lynchburg, Virginia, son of Frank B. & Virginia Ethel (Kirby) Shorter. After Frank graduated high school, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954-1958. He was a hard worker and was a Union Representative. He retired from Kroger as the head meat cutter after 40 years of loyal service. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Belleville, where he was active in the Men's Club during his younger years. Frank was a social butterfly who loved to tell stories, and a former member of the Moose. He was an avid reader who enjoyed going to the beach and loved telling a good joke. Mr. Shorter is survived by four children Dianne (Kurt) Shorter of Lansing, Denise Shorter of Ypsilanti, MI, John (Lauren) Shorter of Raleigh, North Carolina and Annemarie Shorter of Ypsilanti, two sisters Rita (Carlos) Crane of Troutville, Virginia and Katherine Hurt of Roanoke, Virginia, also several nieces and nephews and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marie A. (Crickon) Shorter on October 8, 2008, son Frank B. Shorter III, two brothers Robert and Carl Shorter, also a sister Shelby Ellis. Visitation will be 7-9 PM Sunday and 12-2 PM Monday, April 6, 2015 at David C. Brown Funeral Home, 460 E. Huron River Dr., Belleville, MI 48111. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 PM. Shorter of Lansing, Denise M. Shorter of Ypsilanti, John Robert Shorter of West Lafayettte, IN and AnneMarie E. Shorter of Ypsilanti. Marie proudly served her country in the U. S. Marine Corps, where she and Frank met and it was "love at first sight" and the beginning of their love story. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Belleville and enjoyed bowling, golf, and spending time with her family. She worked as a Nurse's Aid and later for GM at the Powertrain plant, Ypsilanti. Preceded in death by son, Frank Benjamin Shorter III, also a brother Thomas Crickon. Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday at David C. Brown Funeral Home, Belleville. Interment Hillside Cemetery, Belleville. on October 11, 2008.⁴

Shorter; daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Randy Kelly; granddaughter, the apple of his eye, Chelsea Kelly; and a brother, Karl Shorter and wife, Judy. Services were private. God called home one fine man after a 13 year courageous battle with heart disease. Karl was a United States Air Force Veteran who proudly served his country in Korea and the Vietnam Era. He was also a machinist retired from Cooper Industries. Karl was a Life Member of VFW Post 1264 where he served as Quartermaster. He was also a Life Member of DAV Chapter 3, AMVETS and a member of the Salem Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Shorter. Left to cherish memories of him are his wife, Judy Board Shorter, the love of his life of 30 years; his daughter, who he called "Punkin", Jessica Shorter Myers and son-in-law, Brian Myers; known as "Pop-Pop" by his two young grandsons, Austin and Grayson Myers, who were the light of his life and brought him so much joy; his nephew, who he raised and loved like a son, Mark Hurt, his wife, Tiffany Hurt, and known as "Grandpa" by their six children, Shane, Kenneth, Hailey, Caleb, Luke and Logan. In addition, surviving, are his loving mother-in-law, Uldine Orange Board; three sistersin-law, who he loved like sisters, Pat Underwood, Linda Moses and Doris Shorter ; special nieces and nephews, Shannon, Summer, Brayden and Addalyn Underwood, Amy and Brandon Croy, Cory Moses, Josh, Eddie, Allyssa, Makenzie and Aubrey Board; and many special friends at VFW Post 1264. The family would like to thank his cardiologist, Dr. Eric Williams, for all of his devoted efforts. Rest in peace now, the battle is over, you will be forever in our hearts. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at Oakey's North Chapel, with the Rev. Eugene Mills officiating. The interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, with Military Honors by the United States Air Force.
