Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 1996 at Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary in Kearney with the Rev. John McNeill officiating. Burial was at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation was from 4-8:30 p.m. Monday and until service time at the Mortuary. He was born May 11, 1922, to Horace and Mabel (Alkire) Eastabrooks in Litchfield. He graduated in 1940 from Litchfield High School. On May 6, 1943, he married Gwenivere "Gwen" Swanson in Yuma, Arizona. Following his service with the U.S. Army during World War II, he was a machinist and supervisor for Rockwell International. He retired after 20 years, on May 11, 1984. The couple had lived in Southgate, Calif., until moving to Kearney 11 years ago. Survivors include his wife, Gwen of Kearney; and sisters, Myra Snider, Sheridan Wyo., and Jean Cothran, Gardena, Calif. He is survived by his wife, Judy of Omaha; one son, Jerry of Omaha, Two daughters, Pam and Cindy of Omaha, three granddaughters, Heather, Shari ad Melanie of Omaha; two brothers, Dean (Betty) of Westerville and Dennis (Fae) of Broken Bow; three sisters, Beverly (Don) Sarton of Colorado Springs, Colo., Linda (Jim) Zeller and Anita (Stanley) Rewolinski of Omaha. Survivors include his wife; sons, Mark of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Scott of Denver; brother, Jack of Denver; sister, Lavonne Beaumont of Omaha; and seven grandchildren. Additional survivors include foster daughters, Stephanie Cunningham of Kearney, Tina Gary of Lincoln and Heather Bordeaux of Omaha; and daughters-in-law, Christiane Ellsworth of Colorado Springs, Andrea Ellsworth of Denver and Casey Ellsworth of Fort Lupton, Colo. His family moved to the Litchfield area where he attended school and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Air Force from Sept. 6, 1967, to Sept. 3, 1971, during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he and his wife moved to Kearney. He was employed at Eaton Corp. as a stockroom attendant for more than 20 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, was a soccer coach in Kearney and for several years he and his wife were involved in raising foster children. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Kirk Ellsworth. Memorials are suggested to the family. on April 22, 2006.5
