Born April 6, 1937 at Ballard, W.Va., he was the son of the late Arthur Dean Mann and Roena Bratton Ferguson. James worked construction most of his life. Survivors include two daughters, Laura Stafford and husband Jeff of Clarksville, Tenn. and Kimberly McGriff and husband David of Boaz, Ala; two brothers, Arthur Dean Mann of Narrows, Va. and James Aaron Ferguson of Bozoo, W.Va; four sisters, Deborah Myers and husband Gary of Bozoo, W.Va., Louella Harp and husband Tom of Mt. Airy, N.C., Rosemary Cooper and husband Teddy of Springboro, Ohio and Connie Sawyers and husband Jerry of Narrows, Va; seven grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Gene and John. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Sawyers officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset View Cemetery, Bozoo, W.Va. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
