The family will receive friends 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Atlee Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville, where a celebration of her life will take place Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park. on January 31, 2002.⁷

Mr. Mitchell was a retired building contractor in the Hanover area, and a 40 year member of Cool Springs Baptist Church and now of New Bethesda Baptist Church. He represented the Good News Mission Jail and Prison Ministries, serving the youth of the Henrico/Hanover Youth Detention Center for over 25 years. Recently, Mr. Mitchell fulfilled a lifelong calling and was ordained as a minister of the Gospel. Mr. Mitchell was a World War II Navy veteran and Chaplain of the VFW Chapter No. 9808. A service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Atlee Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville. Interment in Signal Hill Memorial Park. on April 28, 2003.⁴
