     James Alvin Vest was born on October 19, 1966 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.^2,3 He died on May 16, 2017 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 50.⁴ He James Alvin Vest, 50, of Roanoke City passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kyle A. Vest and Grace D. Vest. He is survived by a brother, Allen Dale Vest of Roanoke; three aunts and three uncles: Dorothy Janney, Ruth V. Ingram (Elvin), Marie V. Thomas (Bill) of Floyd, Paul L Vest (Penny) of Christiansburg, Charles W. Vest (Loretta) of Pilot, and James B. Vest (Katie) of Copper Hill. Also, surviving James are numerous cousins; and a special friend, Teresa Verell. James was a friend to all who knew him and was always in the company of his very special four-legged friend, Sandy, whom he truly cherished. A memorial service to celebrate James' life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Forest Park Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forest Park Baptist Church. on June 21, 2017.⁴

     Ashley Cox Staples was buried at Sunset Cemetery, 501 South Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.¹ He was born on July 15, 1913 at Hillsville, Carroll Co., Virginia.^1,2 He married Alverta Cannaday, daughter of Bertha Jefferson Cannaday and Sarah Lelia Thomas, circa 1942.^1,3 Ashley Cox Staples died on December 4, 2004 at Virginia at age 91.^2,1 He Ashley Cox Staples, 91, of Christiansburg, died Saturday, December 4, 2004. He was born July 4, 1913, in Hillsville, Virginia. A World War II veteran, he had worked at the Radford Arsenal and was a retired pipe fitter with the Plumbers & Pipe fitters Union, Local 491, Roanoke, Va. He was a member of the Christiansburg Church of the Brethren, McDaniel Lodge # 86 A.F. & A.M, and the Montgomery County Democratic Party. Ashley was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Douglas and Mary Ellen Staples; his brothers, Harry Staples and Edward Staples; and his sisters, Maude Worrell, Marjorie Malloy, Ruby Baker and Fannie Ward. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alverta Cannaday Staples; a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Douglas Gray of Hampton, Va; a granddaughter and her husband, Angela and J.R. Gilley; two great-grandchildren, Katie and Ryan of Hampton, Va; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at the Christiansburg Church of the Brethren conducted by the Rev. Don Peters. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites conducted by McDaniel Lodge # 86.      Virginia Dare Radford was born on October 25, 1937 at War, McDowell Co., West Virginia.^4,5 As of May 26, 1961,her married name was Ware.⁴ She married Charles McRae "Ray" Ware on May 26, 1961 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,3,4 Virginia Dare Radford died on June 19, 2021 at Virginia at age 83.³ She Virginia Dare Radford Ware "Jinny Wren", 83, of Buchanan went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 19, 2021. Jinny was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Ray" Ware and her parents, AnnaBelle and Dalton Elton Radford. Jinny was a Registered Nurse for nearly 40 years and was part of the team that opened Community Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. Jinny was a proud Maw Maw and loved her family. Jinny is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Sarah Ware; son, John Ware; grandchildren, Amanda (Trevor) Townsend, Damian (Meghan) Ashley, Cale Ware, and Macy Ware; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Annabelle and Addie; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. The family would like to especially thank niece, Faye "Sissy" Hambrick for years of helping Aunt Jinny. on June 21, 2021.³
