Mr. Chatham was born June 25, 1958, in Wilmington, son of Grace Hannah Kent Marlin, now of Lake City, and the late Walter James Chatham Sr. He spent his early childhood in Chester County, Pa., moving to Kent County as a young adolescent. He attended W.T. Chipman Elementary and Junior High and attended Lake Forest High School. Mr. Chatham especially enjoyed sports and football in particular. He spent many years pursuing various careers such as a mechanic, welder, truck driver eventually working with thoroughbred horses. He was employed with several top trainers within the industry and was considered by many to be a natural with horses. He truly understood them and many times worked wonders with horses that many considered difficult. In addition to his father, Mr. Chatham was preceded in death by two sister, Mary Chippen Chatham and Margaret Goodwin Chatham. In addition to his mother Mr. Chatham is survived by his oldest sister, Caroline Watts Chatham of Lake City; his aunts and uncles, Robert and Virginia Kent Evers of Dover, Dr. Fredrick and Mary Kent Duncan of New Hampshire, Sam Kent of Lake City, John Hall Chatham, Richard Aflin Chatham, Edward Shippen Chatham, and their families. Arrangements were by McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, Harrington.

     Fances Shaw "Fannie" Bechdel was buried at Liberty Baptist Cemetery, Blanchard, Centre Co., Pennsylvania.1,3 She was born on July 17, 1840 at Pennsylvania.1,4,2 As of November, 1858,her married name was Kunes.4 She married William Kunes, son of Samuel S. Kunes and Elizabeth Eleanor Chatham, in November, 1858.1,4,3 Fances Shaw "Fannie" Bechdel died on April 9, 1917 at Liberty Township, Centre Co., Pennsylvania, at age 76.1,2,3 She Mrs. Frances Shaw Kunes, widow of the late William Kunes, of Blanchard, died at 2:10 a.m. Monday, April 9, aged 76 years, 8 months and 22 days. Her demise followed general ill health for a considerable time past. She was a member ot the Disciple church of Blanchard since girlhood. Her chief characteristic was a kind and genial disposition, friendly to everyone and the enemy of no one. Her life was well suited to her church obligations. She had a large circle of friends and held in high esteem. She made her home with her daughter, Mrs. William A. Bowes, for a year and there passsed from this life. The folloving children survive: Campbell of Johnsonburg; Edward, of Erie; Albert, of Blanchard; W. Sheridan, of Corning, N.Y; Percy, Harry, and T. Milton, of Blanchard, and May, wife of W. A. Bowes, of Blanchard. A brother and a sister also survive, Mitchell Bechdel and Mrs. Samuel K. Spangler, both of Blanchard. The funeral services will be in charge of Rev. Walter L. Dudley, pastor of the Disciple church, and will be held at the home of Mrs. Bowes at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, with interment in the Baptist cemetery. on April 10, 1917.3
