She was a long time member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Christiansburg and enjoyed singing in the choir. She was preceded in death by her sister, Anni; and her brother, Heine Dieter; both of Bremerhaven. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Bobby Eugene Wirt; her sister-in-law, Barbara Jean Barnes; brothers-in-law and spouses, James L. Wirt and wife, Liz, Hennry E. Wirt, Donald L. Wirt and wife, Wanda, and Allen I. Wirt and wife, Brenda; a special niece, Christian and daughter, Annika, of Germany; also nieces, Silka and Doerta; and uncles, Frank and Wolfgang Wessels and family. A note of thanks for the love and support of German friends Inge, Karin, Kati, Marit and Hilda, who have stood by Waltraud from the time of her stroke 11 years ago. Many thanks also to Pastor Fred Hodges for his visits and support over the years. Visitation will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Horne Funeral Home on Friday, July 23, 2008. The funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008, in The Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Hodges of Our Saviour Lutheran Church officiating. Peggy was pre-deceased by her husband, Bill, and grandson, Eric. She is survived by: brothers Roger and Richard; sister Donna; daughters Cathy Williams, Barbara Brown, Dawn Wetherbee, and Trudy van der Knoop; grandchildren Chad, Matt, Jason, Chelsea, Aynsley, Jeffrey, Nicolaas, and Abby; great-grandchildren Payne, Riley, Cy, Koel, Adyn, Preslee, Cooper, Francis and Eloise. She spent her later years at Westminster Village and enjoyed the many friends she had made there. She loved playing Bridge, knitting, attending Bible study, reading, visit ing the secret butterfly garden, and watching the hummingbirds on her balcony. on December 3, 2017.4

She was the daughter of the late M.C. and Adeline Arnoni; wife of the late William Schmitt and Ernest Troke; mother of Mary (Jeanne) Schmitt Burnett of Winter Park, Fla. and Donna (Lee) Schmitt Schaffer of Healdsburg, Calif; stepmother to Jim Troke of Trenton, Fla; grandmother of Erika Schaffer, Paul Troke, Todd Troke and Kim Troke; sister of the late Lena Augustine, George Arnoni, Carmanini Arnoni and Helen Grace. Her brothers, Ceasar and Albert Arnoni, were owners of South Hills Disposal and other businesses. Her surviving sister is Jean Shinsky of Lecanto, Fla. Mrs. Troke was a former member and active volunteer at St. Sylvester Church and part owner and manager of the Jamaica Inn Motel on the Gulf Coast in Dunedin, Fla. She was a member, board member and volunteer in Florida for the Christian Women's Association, Advisory Board for the Disabled, her Catholic church and her condominium association. She won an Outstanding Volunteer Award from Orange County Public Schools. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity or library. Condolences can be sent to her daughters at P.O.
