     Edna R. Dolby Edna R. McCleary, 93, of Corsica, formerly of Miola, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at her daughter’s home where she had been living. She was born on September 9, 1924 in Miola; daughter of the late Orlie F. and Orpha Whisner Dolby. Edna married Fred L. McCleary in October of 1941, who preceded her in death. She worked at Scotty’s Restaurant in Cooks Forest and at the Vowinkel Hotel where she was a waitress in her early years. Edna was a former member of the Clarion Moose Lodge #101 and a member of the Stitch & Chatter Club. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, crafts, and quilting. She is survived by her children, Fredrick McCleary and his wife Diane of Etters, John McCleary and his wife Terri of North Carolina, and Deborah Clinger of Corsica, twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Edna is also survived by a son-in-law, John Wright of Miola and a sister-in-law, Betty Milanovich of Rimersburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Diane Wright, a son-in-law, George Clinger, a granddaughter, Amy Clinger, two brothers, Francis Dolby and Emerson “Pete” Dolby, and one sister, Maxine Slicker. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion, where services will follow at 4 p.m. in the Funeral Home with Rev. Sarah Sedgwick, Chaplin of the Community Nurses Hospice. Wright of Miola; twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.      Mildred N. Dolby Mildred N. Shofestall, 66, of Shofestall Road, Corsica, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, May 7, 2009, at Brookville Hospital. Born July 7, 1942, in Clarion, she was the daughter of Scott and Estella Tuttle Dolby. Mrs. Shofestall attended the Miola School and graduated from Clarion Area High School in 1960. She was married on February 22, 1963 to John D. Shofestall, who preceded her in death on February 28, 1984. Mrs. Shofestall has been the Clarion Township Tax Collector for the past 28 years. She also was a dietician assistant at the Brookville Hospital for 15 years and part owner of M.D.J. Catering for the past several years. Mrs. Shofestall was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter #267 of Clarion. She was a member of the Pisgah Presbyterian Church in Corsica. Mrs. Shofestall devoted her life to helping her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time will her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are two daughters, Lisa A. Gunning and husband, John, of Fisher; Debra D. Hoffman and husband, Jason, of Venus; one son, John D. Shofestall of Corsica; grandchildren, James Gunning of Fisher; Jacob and Julia Hoffman of Venus; and Will and Sadie Shofestall of Summerville; and step grandchildren, Eric and Nathan Gunning of Brookville. She is also survived by one sister, B. Carolyn Dolby of Clarion; three brother-in-law, Jim Shofestall and wife, Beulah “Tootie”, Ed Shofestall and wife, Pat; Max Shofestall and wife, Anita, all of Corsica; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by infant sister, Nancy Dolby; and sister-in-law, Noreen Beers. Family will receive friends from 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 10, 2009 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion with the Eastern Star service to be held at 7 p.m. Viewing will also be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2009 at the Pisgah Presbyterian Church in Corsica. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2009 in the Pisgah Presbyterian Church in Corsica with Rev. James Dietrich, pastor as presider.      Pearl Catherine Sloan Pearl Catherine Dolby, 79, of Highland Oaks, Shippenville, formerly of Shippenville RD 2, died at 1:35 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, in Clarion Hospital. Born July 29, 1922, in Clarion, she was a daughter of Paul "Zip" and Nellie Clinger Sloan. Mrs. Dolby was retired from Owens-Illinois Glass Plant in Clarion. She was a Protestant. Mrs. Dolby enjoyed croucheting and reading. She collected dolls. She was married Nov. 5, 1945, to Francis M. Dolby, who died in 1977. Surviving are five children, Mrs. Richard (Wanda) Fularz of New Kensington, Francis Theodore Dolby and wife, Karen, of Leeper, Mrs. John (Mary Ann) Knecht of Georgia, Harry Joseph Dolby and his wife, Linda, of New Bethlehem, and Kenneth Wayne Dolby of Shippenville; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Louise Slaughenhaupt of Buhl, Idaho. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Dolby was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Sloan, and two sisters, Helen Troese and Dorothy Clover. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Chris Kindle, pastor of Good Sheperd United Methodist Church, Leeper, officiating. He was a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines as a field radio operator. He later joined the Army Corp of Engineers reserve unit in Brookville. Mr. Dolby enjoyed being with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Zachery Egan Dolby, of Leeper; two brothers, Harry Dolby and his wife, Linda, of New Bethlehem, and Kenneth Wayne Dolby of Shippenville; two sisters, Wanda Fularz and her husband, Richard, of New Kensington, and Mary Ann Knecht and her husband, John, of Ga; his mother-in-law, Lois Miller, of Strattanville; three nephews, Jason Fularz, Jarred Dolby, and Jonathan Miller; four nieces, Crystal Shilling, Brianna Dolby, Bitta Dolby, and Jaimie Miller; two aunts, and several cousins. Mr. Dolby was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, Kenneth Miller, and aunts and uncles. Visitation was held Thursday, December 22, 2005 , at the Goble Funeral Home in Clarion. Funeral services were held Friday, December 23, 2005 , at the funeral home. Interment was in the Miola Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Clarion Cancer Center, Clarion Hospital or perform random acts of kindness in his memory. on December 27, 2005.4
