Yeatts of Sandy Level, who passed away at an early hour from the infirmities of old age. He was 85 years of age and a Confederate veteran, serving through the entire war being wounded in one of the engagements. He overcame his injury, however, and lead an active life until a year ago when he began to fail. He was a native of Pittsylvania being a son of Willis C. Yeatts, born near Toshes. All of his life was spent in his native county and he was widely known and esteemed. He is survived by his widow and four children, John R. Yeatts, of Danville; Dr. W. C. Yeatts, of Danville; Mrs. R. W. Maddox, of Altavista, and Mrs. James Hawtorne, of Denver, Colorado.
