Monroe was a good man who loved being a husband, father and Paw-Paw to Isaiah. Born September 8, 1953, Monroe was a friend to all who knew him. He was an avid fisherman and loved building and racing remote control cars, trucks and airplanes. Monroe had many friends at AKZO Nobel Coatings where he worked for 27 years. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank Dr. Wells and the many employees of the sixth floor cardiac care unit at Roanoke Memorial Hospital for their excellent care. A celebration of Monroe's life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Roanoke Chapel of Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Rd. S.W., officiated by the Rev. James Reese. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on July 25, 2008.²
