He is survived by one son, James M. Showalter of Alexandria; one daughter, Hershey Showalter of Farmville; one sister, Doris M. Brewer of Alexandria; three brothers, Robert M. "Bobby" Showalter of Knoxville, Tennessee, James Larry Showalter of Winnsboro, South Carolina, and David Lee Showalter of Nellysford; four grandchildren, Gabriella Proctor, Michael Proctor Jr., Wyatt Proctor and Destiny Showalter. on May 26, 2012.6

She loved gardening, and enjoyed canning, and also liked to read, and was very talented at knitting and crocheting. She provided nearly all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with afghans that they will treasure in her memory. Audrey was an enthusiastic traveler who greatly enjoyed visiting new places and spending time with her family members scattered across the country. In her last months while she was still well enough to travel, she visited family and loved ones in South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Arizona and Southern and Northern Virginia. She also loved the beach, and she enjoyed many fun filled days with her daughter and family members at Virginia Beach this past summer. Survivors include, her husband, Fred W. Reid; her son, Glenn Showalter, of Winnsboro, S.C; and his three children, Hershey Rawat, James Showalter, and Carlton Patterson (deceased); her son, Bobby Showalter, of Knoxville, Tenn; and his two children, Devin Berczy and Amanda Ward; her son, Larry Showalter and his wife, Betty, of Winnsboro, S.C., and theirson, Joey; her son, David Showalter and his wife, Joan, of Ford, Va; and their four children, David Showalter Jr., Lisa Marie Callis, and Matthew and James Showalter; her daughter, Doris Brewer and her husband , Larry, of Stoney Creek; and their three children, Laura Mitchell, Liane Warcup and Brian Brewer. She is also survived by six great-grandchikldren, Diane Berczy, Kovey Ward, Amelia Mitchell, and Allysa, Kara, and Andrew Warcup. In addition, she is survived by her brothers and their families, Roy and Nancy Napier and their children; Scott, Tina and Ginger; Frank and Pat Napier and their daughters; Donna and Glenda; Norman and Marie Napier and their son Harold Wayne; and Massie Napier (deceased) and his daughters Cindy and Sandra. Pallbearers will be David Lee Showalter Jr., Brian Brewer, James Showalter, Harold Wayne Napier, Scott Napier, Brian Ferguson, Josh Ferguson and Dennis Baker. Interment to follow in the Wintergreen Christian Church Cemetery. on January 9, 2006.1

Albert Lee Ponton Albert Lee Ponton "Bunky", 92, of Lovingston, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021. Born in Roseland, on June 23,1929, he was a son of the late Stephen Withers Ponton and Ruby Gowan Ponton. Albert had been with the U.S. Postal Service for 27 years, retiring as postmaster for Shipman. He was also a United States Navy veteran having served his country for four years. Albert was an active and faithful member of Jonesboro Baptist Church where he served in various capacities including, the board of deacons, choir member, treasurer, and young men's sunday school teacher. He was a member of the Lovingston Ruritan Club and was an avid fruit grower and farmer. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Marie Giles Ponton; children, Debra Giles (Steve), Sandra Johnson (Mike), Wayne Ponton (Lori), Ronnie Ponton (Tammy), and David Ponton (Wanda); ten grandchildren, Rick, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Kristina, Benjamin, Tiffany, Brittany, Brian, Rachel, and David; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley White; brothers, Leo (Frances G.), Homer (Frances L.), Douglas (Imogene), Miller, and Alvin Ponton; sisters-in-law, Barbara, Addie, Deanna, and Myrtle, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Mildred Hubbard; brothers, Leslie "Buck", Lawrence, and Julian Ponton; sister-in-law, Sylvia Ponton; and brothers-in-law, Wilson White, and William Hubbard.4 He was buried at Jonesboro Cemetery, Roseland, Nelson Co., Virginia.9 He was born on June 23, 1929 at Roseland, Nelson Co., Virginia.3,4 He married Marie Temple Giles on December 19, 1953 at Nelson Co., Virginia.2,4 Albert Lee Ponton died on August 30, 2021 at Lovingston, Nelson Co., Virginia, at age 92.4
