His Social Security Number was 505-92-0466.6 Todd Randall Smith was buried at Arnold Cemetery, 1 mile south on Highway 40, Arnold, Custer Co., Nebraska.2 He Services for Todd R. Smith, 38, were held Saturday, July 19, 1997, at the United Methodist Church in Arnold with the Rev. Doug Smith officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Dorothy Larreau, organist, and Mrs. Gaylene Weber, soloist. Selections were "Jesus Is All The World To Me" and "Does Jesus Care" Pallbearers were his cousins; Robbi Smith, Lindy Smith, Derek Rose and Joey Smith. Todd was everyone's friend and in his 38 years, he put more smiles in people's hearts than could ever be counted. Todd Randall was born in North Platte, Nebraska on March 24, 1959 to Don and Mildred Smith, the youngest of three children. He grew up on a farm southwest of Arnold, attended Arnold Elementry and Senior High School and graduated in May of 1978. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and received Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of 15 during a Jerry Beltz crusade. Todd helped initiate the tape ministry at his church and was faithful in that area of service util the time of his death. Though Todd knew he had to limit his physical activities, he made personal goals and strived to reach them. In 1983, he became dispatcher and photographer for the volunteer fire department. He also became rra certified EMT in 1988. In 1991 and 1993 Todd was named "Fireman of the Year," which was an honor he truly cherished. Besides his love for the fire department, Todd received great pleasure in being useful on the farm in any capacity-whether he was driving trucks, tractors or grain carts, he was ready and willing. Todd was blessed with the mind of a mechanical engineer combined with a comic's sense of humor. He enjoyed his racing adventures with his cousing, crising the streets of Arnold in "Ole Blue" and collecting and assemblying scale models of vintage trucks and cars. Todd experienced many difficult days during the brief time he was with us but he always had a story to tell, a smile to share or a joy to give away. He clearly had the Lord's signature upon his life.4 He was born on March 24, 1959 at North Platte, Lincoln Co., Nebraska.2,6,3,5 He died on July 15, 1997 at Nebraska at age 38.6,4
