Miss Cole had been a member of the ladies' lodge during her residence here and had maintained her connection with it through all the years she had spent in Nebraska. She had been teaching in Nebraska for the last fifteen years, and she had been looking forward with happy anticipation to her wedding day, which was to have been sometime in January of next year. Instead death has intervened, and on the one who has been about to claim her hand has been imposed the sad duty of accompanying all that was mortal of her whom he loved to its resting place. As escort to the remains came Mrs. Lizzie Cole, the lady's mother, her brother, and her fiance, Joseph Brown, all of Seward. on September 7, 1905.2
