He retired from General Electric. Buford served in the U. S. Navy and was a life member of the National Rifleman's Association. He believed strongly in Freedom For Gun Rights. Buford enjoyed the sports of fishing and hunting. Mr. Beckner was a member of the Preston Oaks Baptist Church, which he and his wife attended for thirty nine years. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at Oakey's North Chapel. The Rev. Irvin Sloan and the Rev. Patrick Collins will officiate. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Oakey's North Chapel, 362-1237. on January 4, 2005.2

Bob was a heavy equipment operator for International Union Operating Engineers #103 and previously worked at Sullivan's Excavating. He taught CPR for the American Heart Association, of which he was past president, and was involved in Christmas City React and March of Dimes. He held memberships with the Operating Engineers Union and the International Union Operating Engineers Local 103. He always enjoyed being involved in Marion High Steppers with his family, as well as the Relay for Life. Some of Bob's favorite hobbies were fishing and stock car driving, in which he participated when he was younger. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Emily; sons, Robert "Rob" (Taska Brown) Bragg, Jonesboro, and Tim Bragg, Marion; daughter, Debbie (Luther) Shrout, Fairmount; grandchildren, Tom Bragg, Jonesboro, Nathan (Stephanie) Bragg, Marion, Amy (Mark Wolf) Bragg, Marion, Michael Bragg, Marion, Cody (Kirstin) Shrout, Noblesville, and Kylie (Chad Padgett) Shrout, Walton; great-grandchildren, Braiden (sister, Kaili), Chad, Ethan, Lesleigh, and Nathan Bragg; brother, Richard "Dick" (Jan) Bragg, Marion; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Donna Hutchins and Bonnie Davis; brother, Jack Bragg; paternal grandmother, Rhoda Alice Bragg; great-grandson, Tyler Joseph Bragg; and nephew, Joe Bragg. Services for Bob are at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the funeral home with Pastor Jeremy Taylor officiating. One son and one daughter are deceased. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Ellers Mortuary with the Rev. Walter Mayer officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. on August 30, 1985.4

Hutchins, 66, 1320 W. Tate St., died at 3:25 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 1994, in Saint Joseph Hospital & Health Center. He was born March 24, 1928, in Kokomo, to Willis M. and Lillian T. (Curry) Hutchins. Sept. 21, 1946, he married Donna M. Bragg, who died Aug. 29, 1985. He was the owner of Tom Hutchins Thum Tavern. He served in the Navy in World War II. He was a member of Kokomo Masonic Lodge, Murat Temple and Elks Lodge 190. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Leslie Hutchins of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Jim and Cindy Hutchins of Kokomo; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lane and Mark Robinson and Jan and Bobby Basil, all of Kokomo; six grandchildren, Rob Hutchins and Christine Hutchins, both of Colorado Springs, Nicholas Hutchins, Jenna Hutchins, Macey Robinson and Brock Basil, all of Kokomo; and a close companion, Donna Whireman of Kokomo. A son and a daughter preceded him in death. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel. The Rev. Greg Reed will officiate.
