Russell Eugene "Rusty" Lemon was buried at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.3 He Russell E. “Rusty” Lemon, 51, of South Charleston passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020 following a short illness. Rusty followed his dream to join the Air Force immediately after high school graduation in 1987 and spent the happiest 9 years of his life serving this Country. He returned home after the bombing of his barracks in Saudi Arabia and went on to again follow his dream to continue doing what he loved by becoming an aircraft mechanic for Northwest Airlines. A job that took him to several different cities across this country. Airplanes were his passion and when he left us he was on a new path to return to school for flight design. He would have been fantastic at it because he loved it so much and truly had a gift for it. Whether he was constantly reading about it or actually doing designs in his spare time he was in his element. The future was so bright for him and now our world is a little dimmer. He loved sports, especially football and NASCAR. Whether it was his beloved Mountaineers and Steelers or watching the race every week with Terry. He currently was employed at Graziano’s in South Charleston. He loved his family and his closest friends all of his life. There was absolutely nothing he would not do for anyone in need. And if you didn’t need anything he would make sure you never did. The movie Top Gun brought him to the Air Force and his dream - so fly high JetmanRuss. You have left a lot of people that love you and miss you so much. Born November 4th 1968 he was the son of the late Russell Lemon and Ramona Moxley Lemon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bryan and Eula Moxley; daughter, Rachael and his sister, Cynthia Lemon. Survivors include his sister Melissa (Gregg) Anthony of Buffalo; nephews, Jeremy Anthony of Sana Cruz CA and Noah Anthony of Cleveland; special brother, Terry Garrison, special sister Sheryl Settle and special friends, Lee Haikal and Carmen Palmer. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M Tuesday October 6th, 2020 at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar with Rev. Randy Parsons officiating.3 He was born on November 4, 1968 at West Virginia.3 He died on September 26, 2020 at Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 51.3
