She passed away at her home after a struggle with cancer. She was born in Franklin Co. April 18, 1900, to Elder Wiley A. and Lizena Sloane Via. She was the widow of the William C. Vest. She was preceded in death by a brother, R. L. Via Sr. and grandson, Bruce Eric Midkiff. Mrs. Vest is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara V. and Randolph G. Midkiff; a stepdaughter, Elvah V. Smith of Vinton; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Vickie M. and R. Lindsey Arnold of Roanoke; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Jeffrey S. and Susan W. Midkiff of Annandale; two great-granddaughters, Rebekah and Kaitlyn Arnold of Roanoke; a sister and brother-in-law, Jessie V. a nd Clarence E. Minnix of Etters, Pa; several special nieces and nephews. She was a member of Laurel Ridge Primitive Baptist Church in Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 12, 1994, 10 a.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel with Elder Leonard Brammer officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call at Lotz Salem Chapel Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. on April 11, 1994.1

Four grandchildren; Alexis, Harrison, Nathaniel and David. Three brothers, Don Vest and his wife Sandra of Maiden, NC, Allen Vest and wife Connie of Princeton, William (Bill) Vest and wife Vella of Cool Ridge, WV; along with a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Dale Vest of Maple Acres, WV and his twin sister, Connie. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Princeton.3 He married Renee Unknown.1 James Ronald "Ronnie" Vest was born on July 15, 1953 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.2,3 He married Pamela Jean Morrison on February 20, 1986 at Wythe Co., Virginia.2 James Ronald "Ronnie" Vest died on December 13, 2022 at West Virginia at age 69.3
