     Irene Elizabeth Holliday Irene E. Prater, age 97, of Orrville, died Thursday, April 23, 2020, at Shady Lawn Health Care Community in Dalton, following a period of declining health. Irene was born on April 18, 1923, in Hico, West Virginia, to the late Ernest and Hester (Gill) Holliday and graduated from Nuttal High School in Lookout, WV, and she was the last living member of the class of 1941. She married Maitland T. Prater on August 3, 1946, in Fayetteville, WV. Maitland died on May 21, 2013. She worked as a bookkeeper for the New River Coal Company in Winonna, WV for 4 years, before she became a homemaker for her family. Irene was a member of Easton United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Orrville VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered as a person friends could lean on and would help anyone in need. Surviving are her son, Michael (Betty) Prater of Orrville; daughter, Rhonda E. Wilson of Orrville; five grandchildren, Matthew Prater of Cleveland, Kyle (Kris) Prater of Lakeland, FL, Barry Wilson of Orrville, Bryan Wilson of Orrville, and Danielle (Jason) Brynes of Orrville, 9 great grandchildren; two brothers, Dale (Fornie) Holliday of Wooster and John (Sherry) Holliday of Orrville; sister, Carol Campbell of Hico, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Holliday, Jr; and sisters, Ernestine Strunk, Charlotte Holliday, and Nelda Louise Holliday. Kelley of Topeka, Kan; brother, Lawrence Thorne of Beckley; sisters, Florence Harrison and Maude Thomas, both of Princeton. Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Seaver Funeral Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Paul Hall officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Princeton. on February 28, 1985.¹

Born February 15, 1929, in Mercer County she was the daughter of the late Horace and Virgie Thorn Chatting. She attended Little French Beauty Academy in Princeton and worked as a beautician in Roanoke, Va., and Charleston, W.Va. She was a resident of South Charleston for thirty-six years where she retired from the West Virginia Department of Health. In 1991, Mrs. Mullin returned to Princeton. She was an active member of Princeton Presbyterian Church and Women of the Church. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She enjoyed water aerobics at the Princeton Health and Fitness Center and was a volunteer at Princeton Community Hospital. In addition to her parents, three brothers, Floyd, Noel, and Bill Chatting preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, John B. Mullin of Princeton; one son, Ted Mullin and his wife Barbara of Roswell, Ga; one daughter, Cindy Holley and her husband Jack of Springboro, Ohio; three grandchildren, Lisa Pierson and her husband Matt, John Holley and his wife Rhyla, and Katie Holley; one great-granddaughter, Virginia Pierson; one brother, Wally Gandi of Dayton, Ohio; and three sisters, Zelphia Payer and her husband Harry of Malibu, Calif., June Kabat and her husband Mike of Independence, Ohio, and Mildred Kelle of Palm Harbor, Fla. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2008, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.      Reva Virginia Hylton was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.^3,4 She was born on October 27, 1926 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^2,3 As of July 9, 1942,her married name was Chatting.¹ She married Noel Freeman Chatting, son of William Horace Chatting and Virgie Mary Thorne, on July 9, 1942 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,3 Reva Virginia Hylton died on April 2, 2020 at Virginia at age 93.³ She Reva Virginia Hylton Chatting, 93 (October 27, 1926 April 2, 2020), of Roanoke, Va., passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2020. A native of Floyd County, Va., she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Noel Freeman Chatting; her parents; nine siblings; and a great-grandchild. Reva is survived by her son, Ronald Coleman Chatting; her son, Rodger Lee Chatting and wife, Doris; her daughter, Patricia Ann Chatting Sowder and husband, Alan; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and beloved neighbors. She was a lifelong seamstress and she loved working outside in her gardens. The family will have a private graveside service at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on April 5, 2020.³

     Rodger Lee Chatting Rodger Lee Chatting, 76, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away after a long illness with family by his side on Saturday, May 20, 2023. He was born Monday, November 4, 1946 at the Radford Hospital, and lived in Floyd county until the age of 11. He was a 50 year member of the local union 491 where he was a pipefitter and steamfitter. He enjoyed his numerous cars, but especially time with his family. Rodger was preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Reva Chatting; and grandson, Lyric Chatting. He survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris Chatting; sons, Troy (Cheryl) and Todd (Liz); grandchildren, Ryder, McKayla, McKenzie, Elissa, and Elijah; special great granddaughter, Eva Mae; brother, Ronald; sister, Patricia (Alan); many special, friends, nieces, and nephews. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.⁴ He was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.⁴ He was born on November 4, 1946 at Radford, Virginia.^2,4 He married Doris Jean Smith on July 7, 1967 at Roanoke, Virginia.² Rodger Lee Chatting died on May 20, 2023 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 76.⁴
