The family would like to thank the Heritage Green of Mechanicsville and the Odyssey Hospice Care for the loving care that Lois received while she was there. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park. on November 13, 2007.3

Elsie was born on January 24, 1917 in Richmond, Va., to the late Joseph and Kate Goin. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Raymond C. Brown. She is survived by her daughter, Norma Church (Clay); loving grandson, Kevin Church (Megan); four wonderful great-grandchildren, Cadence, Justus, Asher and Israel; one sister, Katherine Apperson; two nieces, Sue Rohrbach (Wayne), who spent a great deal of time with her in her last days, as well as Beckie Harkins (Bill); several loving nieces and nephews; and two devoted friends, Margaret Kish and Florence Ayers. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by all whose lives she touched. The family extends its appreciation to her devoted caregivers, Judy Mantlo, Deloris Hackett, Delilah Reynolds and Cindy Pair, who treated her with love and compassion. The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff of Horizons Hospice and to the nursing staff, especially Whitney Dorband, that helped them through these difficult times. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park. on November 16, 2013.5

"Peanie" - On April 24, 2014, while in a peaceful and calm sleep, Katherine answered the Master's call and went to her Heavenly home. Her life began on July 4, 1919, one of eight children born to the late Kate and Joseph Goin in Henrico County. She retired from Philip Morris Tobacco Company after 23 years of service. Katherine loved doing all types of crafts and especially making quilts, playing cards and Bingo with her friends. She was a member of Mechanicsville United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women Lucy Blanton Circle. Katherine spent all but seven years of her life in the Mechanicsville area going to live with her daughter in Yorktown in 2007 until the end. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James Clyde Apperson, who was the guy next door; and her parents, Joseph and Kate Goin; four brothers, Linwood, David, Bernard and Joseph Goin; three sisters, Helen Goin, Lois Atwell and Elsie Brown. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Sue Rohrbach (Wayne) of Yorktown; and son, James Gayle Apperson (Pat) of Mechanicsville; grandchildren, Jimmy Apperson of Florida, Kathy A. Lett (Henry) and Aaron Apperson of Mechanicsville, Kimberly R. Baker (Rich) of Pacific, Wash. and Shawn Rohrbach (Greta) of Gloucester Point, Va; five great-granddaughters, Melissa, Rachel and Samantha Lett and Alexandria and Hannah Baker; two great-grandsons, Dylan and Hayden Brotherton; and one great-great-granddaughter, Rileigh Mae Kahl; sister-in-law, Netta A. Thomas of Mechanicsville; nieces, Norma B. Church (Clay) and Becky G. Harkins (Bill); and many more nieces and nephews. A special thank you goes to her caregivers, Natalia Conley and Eula Faye Livengood of Yorktown, who made life a whole lot better for all of us and words will never be enough expressing our gratitude. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park. on April 28, 2014.10
